well, in about 5 days my father will be flying to the states from China into Atlanta, GA. my step mom, his ex-wife, and my two sisters currently live in Tennessee (north of Atlanta). my grandparents, my father's parents, live in Alabama (south of Atlanta). i currently live in Alabama with my grandparents, and not Tennessee with my family. the original plan for my father to see all of his family:
my step mom would pick my father up from Atlanta, and drive him back to Tennessee. the following day, my step mother would drive back to Atlanta, to meet my grandparents and i. we would be driving up to Atlanta from Alabama. we would pick my father and sister up in Atlanta, and drive then back to Alabama the same day. my grandparents are currently in a bind financially, so this wouldn't work, with gas prices. this would also cause some inconvienence for my step mother because she aswell is in a bind, work related. once my father is finished with visiting us in Alabama, about two weeks later, we would drive back to Atlanta to meet my step mother. from there she would drive myself, and my father, up to Tennessee to visit for a couple weeks. the process would then happen over again, except my dad would hitch a plane in Atlanta back to China, and my grandparents would pick me up in Atlanta to drive me back to Alabama.
this all may seem a little bit complicated.. thats where my issue comes into play:
to evade all this complication, my step mother has purchased me a plane ticket. when my father comes to the states he will not be visiting his parents. i will fly up there in about 4 days, for about a month, to visit my father, my sisters, and my step mother.
the fact of the matter is, is that, i feel bad that my father isn't visiting his parents in Alabama. i don't know why it makes me sad, but it does. the fact is, is that he DOESN'T want to visit them. my grandparents are very strange and i guess he doesn't want to deal with it. they're fairly old though, and they don't have "much time" left.. if you get my drift? should this make me sad? i mean, they were excited to visit with him! we haven't seen him but once in about 2 1/2 years, and now they will feel disappointed that he isn't visiting... i don't know... im crazy... :(
