Diet-wise the most important thing is to only eat until you are full. If you feel full just stop eating. Breakfast is in fact the most important meal. If you eat a filling, healthy breakfast every day you will have less urges to eat unhealthy snacks. It's better to have 4-5 small meals or snacks rather than three large meals every day. Your diet needs to consist of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, rice, beans, etc.; avoid fatty, sugary, processed foods. Don't drink soda, period. Drink mostly water, and drink milk or fruit juice when you want something else.
Exercise is more important than diet from a weight loss standpoint, although diet affects overall well-being just as significantly. You need to do cardio exercise that gets your heart rate above 120BPM for at least half an hour at once at least three times a week, more if you can handle it. The more cardio exercise you get the faster you will lose weight.
Be aware that natural weight loss is a slow process. Losing about a pound a week is considered safe and reasonable to achieve. It will likely take over a year to achieve your goal, but if you stick with it you can do it. Some kids run cross country on their high school team as a means of weight loss; I know someone who lost over 20 pounds in one season, so you may want to consider trying that as well. The most beneficial part is the team driving you to keep it up and succeed.

Well I must say, that is a big weight drop.
I would suggest to start would be to think of a lower weight goal. I would say 10 pounds. It may not sound like much but that's the best way to do it.
Just get a good diet and workout routine. Going to the gym might help. Staying away from fast food will definitely help.
But to start, go on a good diet and get a lower weight goal.

I'm gonna say this in every diet thread I see asking how to lose weight.
Diet and exercise
Start building it up gradually and then doing more and more as you progress

eat regular foods not too light not too heavy just a normal amount. when your net eating that eat alot of lite foods that can be worked off within minutes. this can keep you full and keep your metabolism going without putting on fat. also if you get "hungry" you might just need water so try that first.

Yeah I mean when you are full, sometimes you keep eating. Or in some cases you don't get full until you keep eating food. So water can settle that.
