Not only is the taste disgusting, I think the whole idea of chew is disgusting.

My Dad does. He and his friends play baseball over the weekends so maybe thats why.

first of all, the correct spelling is tobacco. secondly, yes i've tried "dip". there is also another form of "dipping", some like to call it chewing tobacco. however, dip and chewing tobacco are two totally different things.

when you "dip", you pinch a ball of tobacco out of a can that you've purchased and stick it in between your bottom lip and gums. essentially the nicotine floods your gums... and you get your fix...

when you "chew tobacco", your essentially chewing tobacco. i've never tried it, but my grandfather says you take a huge golf ball sized tobacco ball and chew it with your back teeth. it basically creates a pool of gunk in your mouth, as a result you spit.

you can buy different flavors of "dip". i usually dip the winter green flavor. i've heard of peach, citrus, winter green, natural, and straight. so all chewing tobacco really doesn't taste that bad, it all depends on which flavor you purchase.

I've smoked, but the only time I tasted dip, I think I was like 5 and I didn't know what it was. It took me surprise though, that's for sure. People do it during golf meets all the time here though. There are a lot of people who dip, but not too many chew here.

I smoke (awful, disgusting habit, I'm aware), but I've never chewed. And quite frankly, I think it looks pretty gross.
