well in my boredom I watched all the American pie movies, and I was wondering,

Are Americans in there late teens actually like that.

Cause over here they aren't really as open and do crazy shit like that :P

Ha, the movies are funny though, anyways, what do you mean, do you mean the part that they are losers ot the part they wanna have sex before graduation?

well like the freaky crap that goes on, well classic example on what I'm talking about is Band camp, like the suncream the hidden cams, the sex in dorms.

Well no not really nothing that bad, im mean its just stretched a little to make it funny, because those movies are hilarious, but hell i live in kinda of a small town so maybe they do in other places of the USA

If you look at actual stats on teen behavior throughout the world, Yanks are a pretty conservative bunch. On average, we: Drink less, and binge drink less (think about your soccer matches and the pub scene),and have first sexual intercourse later. There are other studies about religious affiliation that also rank us as more conservative.

Sadly, where we trail the rest of the world is in our ability to teach responsible behavior to our young people, I think we tend to focus on the 'behavior' part (as in 'don't do it'), rather than the 'responsible' part (as in 'if you choose to do it, here's the way to do it responsibly'), the best example being sex: The USA leads the way in unintended teen pregnancy and teen abortion.

It is confusing when you're bombarded by images and messages of the USA being this loose, permissive, largely hedonistic, out of control place. But, to a large extent, that's a creation of the media. Most Americans are far more conservative than Hollywood portrays us.
