i'm so insecure right now. i have a friend online who changed her gender, and she said she got so stressed out from it, she lost alot of hair. she lost huge patches of hair in the shower. she lost the whole under layer of her hair from the disgust she had with herself before hormones. i'm worried that this will happen to me. can this kind of dramatic hair loss happen to everyone from such stress?

It take A LOT to have that happen,
But it is possible.
We all have different limits though.

i couldn't picture it happening to myself. it sounds like such a horrible side effect. i wouldn't be able to handle it.

Yasmine, I've said this to you before, and you've chosen not to respond to it, but I really so like the idea of you finding yourself a really good therapist to talk all of this out with, I just think you'd benefit so much by not going thru all of this so alone.

We don't really know what (or why) whatever happened to your online friend's hair, but that doesn't mean it will hapoen to you. You don't necessarily have this in common, too. It's not a typical reaction to stress.

What you might have in common is this need to talk wth someone, get some support, and make the preparations for the life that's ahead of you. By doing so, you minimize the possibility of having these sress reactions. You guys shouldn't be going thru this alone.

i have a therapist, but i don't see her very often, and the sessions are pretty short. there's lots of things that i just feel like are better off unsaid.

Maybe they shouldn't be left unsaid, and maybe you should meet weekly, for 45 minutes?
