Hey every1!!

Hope all is well!!!

Well, my dad has been out of work (for a steady job) for almost a year. Things are getting better, from what I'm hearing and from what I've heard from my dad, he has a better job, and he told me that he already has the job. But sometimes, my dad can assume things. Just recently, about a month ago, my dad had started back to work again, with his cousin, but what my dad didn't know is that my cousin only wanted a few days off, and my dad worked in his place, but my dad thought that he was going to work full time. So basically, the boss and his cousin, used him. Then he went back to work again and he was doing a good job, but he was only working for 10 dollars a hour at 20 hours a week. Both of those places were Big Boys restaurant (he works in the restaurant industry). Now, he has this job at Pizza Papalis, and he tells me that he does have it, and they have been in steady contact with him. He has already had two meetings with him, and I guess they want to have one more. But I don't know, my dad can assume things. But the do like him a lot because they're always calling him and/or emailing him. But how am I supposed to know that this job is going to be any better? And also, sometimes I feel jealous because I see things that other people have. And also, we have been paying the bills and rent every month without a hassle, and we can still get some of the things we wanted when he wasn't working. But my only MAIN concern is how am I supposed to know that this company is going to be any different? Thanks to you guys for your concerns!

They probally won't use your dad like with his other jobs and since they've taken such a big interest in him I doubt he won't get a job.

Your Dad will be fine. I am sure that he will bounce around and get on track again. It is really hard to not find a job nowadays. It might not pay good but its still a job.

Try to take a step back from the situation for a moment. The company are good at communicating with future employees/employees and it sounds as if there is a very good possibility that he will have a proper job with them. Or at the very least that they will keep him informed of any changes that may or may not occur. They don't sound like the type of company to mess people about so try to relax.

The answer to your question is that you do not know if this job will be any different.

Part of being unemployed, or being being underemployed, is the uncertainty and lack of control over things that are very important, like the job and the security it brings.

I think all you can do is focus on the good things here, be an optimist, and hope it works out for the best, and donlt let your concerns or feelings about the past get too much in the way.
