now hear this, I agree with communism, i mean come on, everyone gets a job, and education, food, water, clothing, shelter, and all the necessities of life. ppl just think communism doesn't work because the ppl who have done it failed at doing it or got corrupt at it, I think that communism is a great theory. anyone agree with me?

Theoretically yes it's great. But seeing as it has already been done and the results were devastating I don't see it happening in the near future or at all in fact. For the people have adapted to Democratic and Dictator systems.

hmm, i see, well eventually the american empire will fall, become more corrupt then it is now, then a country will be the new leader of the world, then they will fall and it will all just happen again

I don't see that happening at all. Especially one country ruling the world is completely absurd. That's like the Nazi era all over again.

[My debating in this post is over seeing, as this is an irrational one]

How are you going to enforce the behaviors that lead up to communism without an oppressive, brutal, corrupt regime? That's the central question.

Oh yes, communism is amazing in theory, just like anarchy is amazing in theory. But we don't live in the world of theory, we live in the world of reality. And in the world of reality, the central and basically insurmountable issue with communism is that it essentially destroys all economic incentives. And the result of that is that you get all kinds of resource misallocation, especially in human resources (why would I work hard and become a doctor when I could just do something relatively less difficult like carpentry or whatever for the same money?).

This resource misallocation and distortion of incentives inevitably destroys communism in the real world - unless you can create a central planning system that exactly mimics the functioning of the price mechanism for signaling and resource allocation. And that is essentially impossible.

Anarcho Communism, Communism At It's Best!

Communism only works perfectly if every country is Communist,
So it might as well be thrown out.
I can see where it's ideal, total equality,
But it's just not practical,
Since there is always going to be change in the world.

Communism is flawless. It's ideals are what we'd consider a "perfect" society where you would never want for your entire life. There is just one, tiny, outside problem to deal with: humans. We simply can't have communism unless we're all robots :P

Greed and power always gets the best of whoever's in charge, and while it may start out good it never lasts forever. If we could magically eliminate greed it would be fine.

I agree with ThatCanadianGuy, rep+. Theoretically communism is great, but it wouldn't work, as has been shown in the past.

Communism is like the first peach of the spring it can be perfect but if the other arent then you throw it away.

Communism would imply that we are all equal. We aren't.

Communism is absolutely wonderful...on paper. But no matter what, there is no way a man with ALL that power could not become corrupt. And joe blow who vaccums carpets will make the same amount as Dr do good, who saves lives every day? Kinda irrational.

i think communism is a great idea, but it can't work out in action. I don't really agree with the person that could mooch off the government eather. You could get a car and not work for it so I don't agree with that.

the human factor of greed and hostility stop communism from being successful

i like communism but with free speech. or state property with free speech. that way it WOULD be the utopia that Marx imagined (as long as they didn't have a despot leader).

I dou't you like it when you parents tell you what to do
but you love the idea of your government ordering you around...?
move to Russia tell me how much you like it there. No better yet!
Go to the "Democratic Republic of Korea" (north korea) live in a Soviet Union inspired dictatorship for awhile
Then tell me how much you like it

You live in the west
you enjoy more freedoms than any other area on the planet

Both communism and capitalism sucks IMO, both are unfair in ways... The best is in the middle, a little of this a little of that, social democracy.

I agree to it to some extent too. However, in theory communism should work. It has worked. China is still doing pretty good. However, the issue is that people get power hungry and the peoples get...whats the word...I am thinking of a word kinda like evolution...whatever, just that like humans get more capable and smarter, thats what happen with communism. people get tired of jsut sitting there following poeple and then they get smart and shit starts to happen.

Anarcho-Communism is utopia in many ways.

Anyway, I used to think communism was all that, and it would work perfectly, etc. Truth is, people are dicks. Either they are dicks to you to enforce communism, or if there are no people to enforce it, someone is a dick enough to take your stuff. Until people stop being dicks, we can't have a very successful communist community, or at least on a large scale. Smaller ones, independent ones, have worked and there is one an hour away from where I live that is still up and running. Thats how it needs to work. small, individualized communities, adapting to their own needs. A big communist country wont work very well.

I disagree. China has been a communist country in name only for many years. Nowadays, it's more like an authoritarian capitalist country.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely..The only problem with communism is us:eek: sounds surprising but the human race as we know it could never have a true communist utopia.

even if the power did not corrupt the problem would be the people. if everyone gets the same and joe sees bob not working as hard as him then why should joe meet more than the bare minimum either? work enough to get the same as every one else but dont slack off enough to be punished. without a reward for your work there is no reson to do better.

The model of society can be seen, in action, working perfectly, at places like Bonnaroo and Burning Man especially. At both places, huge cities of 50 and 100 thousand come together peacefully, feed each other, give each other shelter, give each other love, and more. It's amazing. And there is like no violent crime there either.

If I'm correct bonnaroo is just a camp. Big difference between a whole country and a camp.

The thing about communism is that yes, it is effecient, we know this. But is it ethically and humanitarianly (like my word) correct? not usually.

It is still a community. And for Communes to really work, it has to be small communities that are almost entirely self sufficient, which is becoming more and more probable these days with solar technology and such. It takes a complete reworking of our view of what happiness means... We won't have iPods and fashionable clothes in utopia. We'll have each other for entertainment, the natural world for our clothing and source of food. We don't have to revert to our pre-civilized state, we just have to cast out the idea that our possessions are the source of our happiness.
