i have just started having periods and get bad cramping a friend said he mother normally gives her a enema when this happens is this write and what is a enema r they cool

you don't need to use a douche. the vagina is self cleaning.

Uh, an enema is given rectally to cleanse the colon or facilitate a bowel movement in someone who's seriously constipated. It's a rectal wash that gets in there and cleans it all out.

Let's hope your friend's mother isn't doing this in response to menstrual cramps, and also, not giving her a vaginal wash, either, unless specifically recommended by a doctor for some medical problem.

Cramps are a normal part of menses for many girls, and the typical treatment is Advil or Motrin. And maybe some dark chocolate (or your favorite sweet!).

you aren't suppoed to know that....but yes its true =/ sucky but true. just relax a little, it won't last too long

wow, i just stumbled upon this website and decided to join! :p
so yeah, the pain is unbearable, i've had to call out of work several times due to the pain. i've never ever felt like this before, and i don't get it. i get terrible headaches, cramps to the point where i can't stand up and i'm often in tears. i actually vomit towards the end of my period, like the last day or so. i feel wicked hot, and sometimes get the chills. i shake and shiver even when i have a blanket and my sweatpants on. i don't understand it. well i should probably go lay down now 'cause it's getting bad... :/ advice?
