I'm not sure where, but in some part of catholic religion, its considered un pure and sinful to masturbate and fantasize about sex, why is that so wrong?

Quite.
I don't get it either. It's just priests and other religous icons needing to moan and preech about something or they get bored. I swear that there is no where in the bible that says it's wrong to masturbate, i've never read the bible so...
Religous people using words like "Un pure"! What does that mean? Nothing, they just want to have power over others and make it look like they know what there talking about.
I bet they masturbated when they were younger, don't ask them though, could get nasty.
Those dog collers stop the blood running to there heads so thats why there so empty headed and arrogant.
I hope i didn't affend anyone:-) *grins*

This comes up a lot, I'm not sure what the answer is, you might try asking someone in the Church for the answer.
Regardless of that answer, though, it's important to recognize that masturbation causes no physical or mental problems, it is perfectly harmless. And, it's universal, everyone does it. That's b/c sexuality is a biological drive, it's wired into us, and we could no more 'Stop' that (or those urges) than we could stop sweating or being thirsty or sleepy.
Being a religious person and still addressing your sexuality are not mutually exclusive, you can be both. More than anything , all the religions place a much higher value on what's in your heart and how you express that, rather than what you do with your hand.

And we wonder why so many Catholic Priests are in the news... feeling up young boys at confessional again are we?
It's because of their horribly backwards way of thinking that they get so sexually repressed (remember, these guys aren't even allowed to get married) that eventually they just snap and some boy ends up getting touched in his "private areas".
Masturbating isn't unpure. If anything, THEIR actions are!

Quite right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also think that religious authorities, priests, deans etc, are living in the middle ages. A bishop over here in England announced that he was gay this week and there all shocked and appalled!!!!!!!!!!! It's the END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go and ask a priest to show you WHERE in the bible it says wanking is bad. I want to know cause i think it's bullshit.

^^ Exactly right. There is NO passage AT ALL in the bible that even MENTIONS masturbation and how BAD it is (ooooh no! :D). They TRY to use stories like that of Onan and INTERPRET what they WANT to believe out of a totally DIFFERENT story. Somehow they got "masturbation is BAD" out of a story that had nothing to do with it!

We talk so much sense. Hahahaha
I'm glad that someone agree's with me. Should we take this to the pope?
What do you think?

Here's the Catholic justification:
Roman Catholic Church's teaching on the matter of masturbation is a reflection of its overall stance on human sexuality. It says that the deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose.
The Church views sexual expression between a man and a woman in the context of marriage to be a sacred, even sacramental, act. Consequently, all other sexual activity including masturbation, fornication (sex outside of marriage), homosexual acts, acts of sodomy, and the use of artificial contraception are morally disordered as they frustrate the intention of God "written" in the design of the human body. Pope John Paul II in his book, "Theology of the Body," coined the expression, "the nuptial meaning of the body" to describe this divine intention physically expressed in the body. His elucidation of human sexuality is that to fulfill its sacred character, sexual expression must be a complete act of mutual self-giving only possible between a married couple open to the conception of a new child.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church lists masturbation as one of the Offenses Against Chastity:
By masturbation is to be understood the "deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure." Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action. "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved.
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects' moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety, or other psychological or social factors that can lessen, if not even reduce to a minimum, moral culpability.

^^ It's ideals like THAT which scare me. I feel sorry for the people that believe it!
All this talk of divine purpose can never be attached to a physical being; there's no divinity in it.
They go as far as to say ANY remotely sexual use of the genitals is EVIL and WRONG when you're not married and trying to have a child?! That's outrageous! People need to stop going by what old men BELIEVE, and start looking at the things we KNOW. Actual knowledge, people. We KNOW that as mammals we are hardwired for sex; masturbation is healthy for us (i.e. the more ejaculations you have the better!) and we even observe this in NATURE! Dolphins, primates, even household pets can masturbate! Who gave these people the right to tell everyone what the PURPOSE of our genitals are. We kNOW what the purpose is, procreation, masturbation, and sex; just for the hell of ti!

That would be your worst bet if you want to keep masturbating without unreasonable guilt.

the bible doesn't directly state that masturbation is a sin. although, what the bible states, is that giving in to temptation is a sin. one could go about and beat-around-the-bush proclaiming what temptation is. but, we all know what it is, and we all know we fall into temptation from time to time. if you were to look at the female body, sexually, then masturbate, that would be called temptation. let alone looking at a female with the intent for sex is a sin within itself, you're essentially getting a double whammy.
i'm not going to baby sit you guys. hell, i'm not even religious, but i do my research.

Read some of it, they didn't directly say "MASTURBATING IS BAD" They would just rather that the only sexual...stuff....be used in a marriage. And please stop with the religious insults. Its startin to get to me. EDIT: Gookmique is right also.

Ok, I'm not Catholic, but I am a Christian, and the only reasoning behind it is lust. Looking at a woman other then your wife in a sexual way is a sin. Thinking about it is a sin. The act of masturbating is not a sin at all, but it's just because of where your mind goes.
Not gonna be a hypocrite - I think about wrong things and I masturbate. I'd love to do neither, but it's something I struggle with.
Well, I think even if I was in complete control I would still masturbate maybe once a week. It's just how I let off steam. It keeps the people around me alive. haha

Well, I'm not completely sure but i think i heard that the bible says that sex should be reserved for married people. but don't count on that being true... again, i said that i wasn't sure.

Catholics believe that every sperm should have the chance to create life. Masturbation and the use of contraceptives prevent the chance that the sperm released can create life. To lust after another person is deemed sinful. These form the basis for the claim that masturbation is wrong, but it has been taken out of the proper context.
