Laptop Trying to Shut Itself Down

Ok so my laptop basically trys to shut itselfs down. Out of no where, if I have like 2+ tabs on IE, it'll have that "close all tabs" window, then I'll click cancel but then that "Stand By, Turn Off, Restart" window will pop up right after. I have to click the cancel button 2 times but then when that happens, it closes everything I have, including the icons at the bottom right, like aim, msn, avg etc.

Like today, heres a ss from what happened.

I just turned on my laptop and then went to go do something. I come back and its on that screen. After I clicked cancel 2 times like I always have to do, it closed everything and VT didn't work anymore when I tried to get into a thread, because it said there was a database error.

Anyone know whats wrong? I ran a virus scan and avg didn't find anything so I don't know if its a virus or what. But it'll randomly happen.

EDIT:I just ran SB Search and Destroy, and I got like 212 entries of keylogger and a few other things so I just got them taken off. Don't know if that could have anything to do with my computer being turned off though.

George, I do know that your lap top is on 24/7 ... I dunno I never had this problem before. I'll ask my roomie.

Try leaving it to cool off for a little bit
Laptops get really over heated and start crashing

Lol no Alex I don't leave my laptop on all day and night. My laptop was off for atleast 8 hours when I turned it on today and it still tried to turn itself off right after it turned on. Its never done that before, normally it does it like when I'm watching videos on youtube, after like 3 minutes into a video, it'll try to shut itself down and when I click cancel it'll close IE.

Are you sure it's just youtube? There's other video streaming sites, that require much more ram to run. Try to not run too many programs on at the same time.

Then... hmm lower your graphic settings. The video quality might be very sucky, but I doubt that'll prevent you from watching your videos George. :P

But yeah, its not doing it anymore after I ran SB searh and destroy and ccleaner like 2 times. SB did find 200 something entries of keylogger, a trojan, an "ad revolver" and some other things.

Wow, look at too much porn? lol Run Spybot S&D daily or every other day atleast. That's the safest thing to do so this wont happen again.

You may need more RAM. go to http://www.crucial.com and find out what kind of memory you need, then type that in say a Best Buy or OfficeMax search. i got a 1Gb stick for 50$ the other day.

Not having enough RAM wouldn't have anything to do with it.
