Rep question...

I noticed some users have the same number of rep power, but a diffrent number of rep blocks, why is this?

Has to do with post count and all sorts of other variables... I think Zach's thread on rep explains it all [if I had a link, I'd post it... If you can't find it, just look in Zach's sig]....

Because you get rep power for 1000 posts, and every 6 months your here, but it doesnt add to the point total, or rep block total

That's not entirely correct Arctic Fox.

*The amount of Rep Power you have is based on three things:

How long you've been a member - Every 6 months, your Rep Power goes up by 1
How many posts you have - Every 1000 posts, your Rep Power goes up by 1
How high your Rep Points are - Every 50 Rep Points, your Rep Power goes up by 1

*The number of Rep Blocks you have are determined by your Rep Points (you get one for every 100 points, starting with 1 block at 0 rep points.

The reason it's different: (example)
person one: has been here for 1 year (that's 2 rep power), and has 200 rep points (that's 6 more rep power, and 3 blocks), and has 1000+ posts (1 rep power)
Comes out to: 9 Rep power, 3 blocks

Person two: has been here for 2 years (that's 4 rep power) and has 100 rep points (that's 2 rep blocks and 2 more rep power), and 3000+ posts (3 rep power)
Comes out to: 9 Rep power, 2 rep blocks

so the reason is the differences in the combonations of how long you've been here, how many rep points you have, and how many posts you have.

Thats what i was saying, that how long you were here, and how many posts you have do not affect your blocks/points, they only affect your power

One more thing, why do we have rep blocks? what do they determine?

Rep blocks are fancy.
No real reason why they're there, they don't do anything except show how many rep points someone has and indicate neutal/negative/positive additions in the UserCP

Rep blocks have to do with how many rep points you have... You get a new rep block for every 100 rep points [though there is a slight "flaw" in that system]

It goes:

Points|Blocks
0|1
100|2
200|3
300|4
400|5
500|6
700|7

I don't know how many points you need to get to 8 though.

val told me that after you get 6 blocks, it takes 200 instead of 100 in order to get 2 light green blocks and on. So the answer is 200 because Val had 8 rep blocks when she let me know.

900 rep points = 8 blocks

first you get 5 green blocks, then 5 light green blocks, and then next comes gold and that goes on forever

It would be funny if someone got so much rep that it went negative or vice versa. There's a sports sim I play that involves prestige and when a team is really bad it can see its prestige drop from a D- to an A+ and when a time is really good it can see its prestige go from A+ to D-. It would be funny to see someone get like a rep power of 100 and then see it go back to 0 or go to -1 or something. :D

I think I've seen blue rep blocks but when I search google I can't find them anymore. right now I think gold is supposed to be the last one
