I used to be extremely focused up until I turned 13, Then it just went away and i started doing terrible in school and just not caring about anything,I always feel unfocused and spaced out compared to how i used to feel, i have lost all motivation and passion for things i used to enjoy. I am now 17 and everyday i wonder what is wrong with me and why i became like this. Is this normal to go through when you go through puberty?

No, it's not necessarily normal to lose an ability you once had. And no, it doesn't sound like ADHD, b/c the onset is too sudden.
I think you might want to figure out what it is that might have caused this sudden and what seems to be fairly dramatic change in such a central ability. People change a bit during puberty, but we really do remain who we always were. Actually, most people report an improvement as they go thru their teen years.
Is there any family history of any kind of mental or cognitive problem? And did anything dramatic happen to you after age 13, other than puberty?

When i was 13 my father cheated on my mother and they almost got a divorce, they still to this day have trouble. Would tht have anything to do with it? (btw, I have ocd)

OCD? Was that diagnosed by a doctor, and are you being treated for it?

Good for you! I suspect that a lot of the symptoms you've described will go away as a result of treatment, I bet they were the result of the OCD.
Good luck, keep us posted!

What does your OCD make you do? It may have something to do with it...

Makes me think i am always sick, and obsess over things. Uhh i got another question. I smoked weed twice back in 2006, and I didn't get high both times but could that have fucked my head up?

OK, maybe they thought your symptoms back then were ADHD, I suppose they look similiar. Often, symptoms appear similiar eventhough the cause is different. The Concerta might have worked for a while, but what happens at adolescence is that it's not just the parts of your body you can see that change, your brain does, too. So, the effects of puberty might have made the OCD more noticable and significant, and Concerta stimulated the OCD, making it worse (in your case, you were angrier/more irritable). However, puberty also makes it easier to determine more precisely the cause of those symptoms, enabling more effective treatment. Maybe that's what's happened here.
The good news is that OCD is really very treatable, there are meds now that really fix it that weren't available just a few years ago, so you're really in luck here!

Listen, don't worry here, you're in good hands with your doctor. What you have can be controlled, look forward to that visit!
BTW, no, smoking pot, although not a good thing, and not somethng you should be doing, esp. with the meds you'll be on, cannot have created or worsened your OCD.

i think your loss of focus is because of untreated ADD, it makes sense because you started feeling like that right when you stopped taking your meds. so maybe the ADD makes you unfocused.

I am really freaking out over the pot thing, cuz i just read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4305783.stm
it says that smoking pot doubles your risk of mental illness, would you have to smoke it alot or could it do it the first time you smoke?

Wonderful! Zoloft is a great choice! My Dad the Shrink agrees (he's incredibly smart). You're on the right path here!
Relax, don't worry, you'll be fine, better days ahead!
