so ive had my period for about...10 months or so and its regular now, and getting heavy. SO yesterday i got my period and it just so heavy and pads are so annoying, since they are so big! i had a question about tampons. im kind of uncomfortable shoving something up there, but it seems so much more convienent i know i will adjust, so what do you guys suggest? should i try a slim tampon?
p.s. i also love to swim, and its annoying when i cant becouse of my stupid period! thanks much you guys!

yeah when I first got my period it was SUPER heavy! I was too afraid of tampons to use them, you know paranoid and stuff....I ruined sooo many pairs of pants and underwear because of it! So don't make my mistake! So if regular tampons dont fit use slimfits!

I would wear slimmer tampons,
You'll just have to change them sooner if your flow gets heavier.

i talked to my mom about it, and she got me some slim tampons, but im having some major problems getting them in there! its like i cant find the opening, and its VERY uncomfortable and almost painful, i cant get the tampon barrel into my vagina. will it tear the hymen?

Possible, but very unlikely.
Tampons take some geting used to.

Just relax,
You'll get the hang out it.
It takes most girls a few times to do it correctly.
If all else fails, read the instructions.

Most of the time you won't notice that you're wearing a tampon (if it's inserted properly).
You'll get used to tampons after however long and can start to use a wider varity during your entire period. For now, you're gonna want to try one with an applicator -this makes it easier to insert- and try a slim style suitable for a regular flow -you said you're heavy but these are best for beginners-.

it could tear your hymen. but if you ever plan to have sex it will tear then too. so it's better off happening now than later.
