View Full Version : what IS a virgin? What IS sex?

Everybody believes something different when it comes to what virginity is, and what sex is.

My dictionary defines a virgin as: "a person who has had sex".

Sex is: "Activities associated with sexual intercourse"

Sexual intercourse is: "The act of sexual procreation between a man and a woman; the man's penis is inserted into the woman's vagina and excited until orgasm and ejaculation occur"
So that means vaginal sex is the only real sex. And anal sex and oral sex are not really "sex". But you can transmit STDs through all 3...and what about gay people?

So what do you believe? How do you define a "virgin", and how do you define "sex"? And what about gays?

How I define sex - anal, oral, vaginal, and in some cases, frottage, but not masturbation.

If I do use the word virgin, it's either "straight virgin" or "gay virgin", which refers to never having done anything sexual with the corresponding gender. But, once they've done something, I don't use the word 'virgin' anymore. Instead, I think it's more accurate to say "I've done anal but not oral;" or "I've done vaginal but nothing else" instead of virgin, because the word virgin is so inaccurate and there's different types of sex.

I would define a virgin as someone who has not had any type of sex, whether it be anal, oral, or vaginal. So someone who ISN'T a virgin is simply to me, someone who has done any one of those.

Sex to me is two people, whether they are the same or different sex, coming together and doing anal, oral, and vaginal. Masturbation is more...neutral to me because nothing is going in anyone elses body.

Thats just me. :)

If you define it as your first sexual act then
well I was molested
so that would mean I lost mine when I was 5 er 6

I don't like that personally
I'm choosing to believe that it has to be given not taken
in which case

I'm a virgin virgo

I agree with Kodie and also serial thirlla. I consider it if a woman (or now in some cases a man too :P ) can get pregnant from it, it's sex.

And george, I don't think adam savage would say that in this discussion lol :)

I personally don't consider oral to be sex. Anal and vaginal are, in my opinion.

umm guys, it why didn't most of you answer the entire question?:

So what do you believe? How do you define a "virgin", and how do you define "sex"? And what about gays?

Most of you left out how it applies to gay people. That is part of the topic and plays a major role in defining what "sex" and "virginity" really is, because there's more going on than guys screwing girls...

That's kinda what I meant, a virgin is someone that hasn't had sex, and my definition of sex is vaginal or anal penetration, whether they are gay or not, the gender or the people doesn't matter.

Maybe I'm not getting it, hehe.

Honestly, if you're gay and have had sex, call yourself whatever you want! I don't care. I don't ask every homo/bi sexual whether they're a virgin or not. So what I think about whether you're a virgin or not, does not matter at all. I'm sorry I left out gays as their own section, I was thinking human beings as a whole, not straight, bi, and gay. I tend to mash us all up as human beings rather than what gender the person we love is. (this comment isn't supposed to be mean, but it kind of sounds like it, so sorry in advance.

i belive that u r no longer a virgin when a guy puts his dick in a girl's vagina and there thrusting goin on but the real definition of virgin is when a guy penetrates a girl eg; when a guy inserts is penis in in a girl's vagina

i kind of disagree. i guess i can see why anal would be considered sex for a male, but anal for a female (straight guys seriously do this to girls?...eww) isn't losing virginity. anal and oral dont count in my opinion.

I think times have changed so much, that it is a little ignorant to view sex as ONLY vaginal intercourse.

His tongue's not going to get me pregnant, which is why I don't consider it.

Agreed.
Granted, anal's not going to get me pregnant either, but for the gay guys, that's pretty much as far as you can go, so to me, it's sex.

i disagree dante. it's ignorant to not see it as foreplay (a fairly new concept). did you not hear of bases in middle school?
