a few days ago i gashed my wrist (long story) and it started to kind of started to feeel like i might be able to use that hand in maybe a few months, but i somehow got it bleeding again and it hasn't stopped for the past 30 minutes and it's getting worse... It started out like a little spot and i got a toilet paper and put some pressure on it and i wasn't moving it, then it just gradually got bigger... i actually cant feel my whwole hand at all. i can't go to a hospital because i have no fucking clue what they;d do to me if i can't pay and have no insurance. anyone? help would be nice sooner rather than later

Wrap it, add pressure, stick it in the air. usaully that should stop the bleeding also you should consult a physician if bleeding presists

Other than putting pressure on it, raise your hand above your head so that there is less blood.

Edit: Dang lol Greg got to it before me :O

okay...raised, pressure... blood flowing down my arm.... i think it's kind of slowing down. I can't move any fingers at all.

That should be good but move them. Just to make sure, but still CONSULT A PHYSICIAN! The blood flow is being cut off and the platlets are doing their job.

Listen Elliot, you need to get to a hospital. Forget about what they might do or the cost, you need some medical attention. Go get it. You could have severed a vein or some nerves in there, there's the risk of infection, you could have a bigger problem than you need right now.

SirRawrsalot

physicians cost money dont they? I'll contact a pphysician when im an italian citizen next year. and how long before if should be stopped bleeding? to describe the cut: I got a swiss army knife and hacked at it 3 times pretty hard so i didn't chop my hand off, but i don't have a splinter.

Edit: this is thee worst possible time to have to argue since i have one hand to type with, but I can't. I won't. I will only go to a hospital for required vaccines. That's all. If I don't want to go I don't have to and I can make that choice. I think that it'll never be the same hand, but I'll get over it. It isn't as bad as it sounds.

Listen, Elliot, get to the hospital. They cannot refuse to treat you b/c you don't have money. You have to go now, you cannot wait until next year when you are in Italy, this sounds serious. Turn the computer off and get going.

SirRawrsalot

god damn it sam. I would normally listen, but I really cant. I'd rathere bleed to death

July 2nd, 2008, 10:10 PM
Ok, Elliot, it's your hand.

I hope you feel better.

(and please don't swear at me, I'm just trying to help).

SirRawrsalot
July 2nd, 2008, 10:11 PM
I'm sorry. I'm just in a panic right now. Absolutely nothing personal.

Edit: You know what. When I get back from te hospital with a bill sam, it's your fault.

And its also his fault you didnt pass out and bleed to death. You'l probably need stitches but nothing evolving surgery unless you really screwed uo your wist, which i doubt upu did because you can talk to us. If you havent gone yet, GO NOW!! If there was a bill and i had money, i would gladly pay for it.

"unless you really screwed up your wist, which i doubt u did because you can talk to us." don't be so confident in assumptions. And what if he really might not have any money to spare which a lot of people don't. Think about it. I'd be scared to death. Luckily I have insurance, but he apparently doesn't. A few grand (or how ever much is may be, I'm guessing for stitches across your wrist at the least maybe a grand with numbing and other things like that.) is a lot. So, there's two sides to everything. He was being a jerk, but then again his arm is probably dripping with blood and he is going tot a hospital he can't afford.

I went, and I'm still there. I get released tomorrow morning. Theey knocked me e out and I guess theye did something in my wrist and stitched it up. Theey said it will be a scar for preetty much my whole life, so that sucks. I can't move my pinky or my riing finger. TThey said that I mightbe able to move them I might not. Nothing they can do. My friend drovee over and brought me my laptop. They are makiing sure I don't do anything stupid I guess. Thanks for the help all of you and sorry I was an ass :( .

Well its good to know that your feeling better :) Hope you can move your fingers :O

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 04:19 PM
It's been around 15 hours and I still have no feeling or movement in those 2 fingers lol, not looking good. And feeling better isn't the words I'd use. I'm still wondering where they're getting money, because I have none. My mother has none (besides the house, which is a good 200,000 - 350,000 since we inherited it, it was 400,000 before the market collapsed. ) They won't tell me how I'm paying for it.

george
July 3rd, 2008, 04:32 PM
Ok then its good to see that your not....uh.......dead? lol ok wrong word but its still good to see that your not still dripping blood.

The second you get those 2 fingers moving, tell us ^^

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 04:50 PM
lol will do. It will be awkward having two unusable fingers just hanging there if they don't heal...

I understand, its ok, you were in pain.

Medicaid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicaid) probavly covered it, i asked my dad and he said you probably qualify for it.

george
July 3rd, 2008, 04:52 PM
Well does it hurt if you like pinch them? Or like is there still blood in them?

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 04:55 PM
"Having a limited income is one of the primary requirements for Medicaid eligibility," ... my income or my mom's? She has no income I do.

"the Medicaid program does not provide health care services, even for very poor persons" AWESOME!....

"a child can be covered by Medicaid based on their individual status even if his or her parents are not eligible." is 17 a child still? I hope so.

"In some states Medicaid beneficiaries are required to pay a small fee (co-payment) for medical services."
I guess that's better, I hope it isn't more than 120 U.S. dollars. lol

Edit:

Nope, I jabbed them with a pen and didn't feel a thing. I thnk that if I cut them off there might be blood.

Just don't worry about the bill. Just hope to God that you can move your fingers. lol Good luck.

george
July 3rd, 2008, 08:30 PM
Lol it would so weird if you had 2 fingers just kinda lying there. So like are they just kinda lying there? like are they the same color as all your other fingers?

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 08:47 PM
Well, i can't move any fingers, but if I took the damn cast thing off then those two wouldn't move. Relax your whole hand...they'd be like that. And no, they're much paler. like, ghost white. They are thinking about keeping me ANOTHER DAY. I'm starving here. I've eaten some peas since last night for dinner and that's it (vegetarian).

george
July 3rd, 2008, 08:51 PM
Eat some veggie burgers :D or a salad ;)

OMG dude they might be dead O.O I hope that you'll be able to move them soon :)

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 08:57 PM
The hospital won't let me leave. And they have no veggie burugers or any meat substitute since I came in without notice they said " we'll get some soon for you." this morning. And it's 10 P.M. right now...

Don't even tell me the possibility of that. (what is it?)

theOperaGhost
July 3rd, 2008, 09:09 PM
I'm glad that you went to the hospital. Can I ask, how bad did you fuck up your wrist? I hope you get some food soon and that you can move and feel your fingers again soon.

SirRawrsalot
July 3rd, 2008, 09:25 PM
lol I'm still not glad I came to the hospital because wtf can I do with the debt if i dont qualify for medicade? Atleast they can't charge me for food!

How bad did I fuck up my wrist: I asked them what they did and something about I almost tore open some artery or something and i damaged a bunch of nerves and some other b.s. for an excuse to preform some "small" operation that costs a shiit ton and did nothing to help my fingers. They think I have a small chance of moving my fingers again.

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 11:32 AM
So I got home! Yay! lol. I have to keep the cast thing on for another 2 months because they don't want me hurting my wrist. I can't lift anything passed 10 pounds with it. I can feel my ring finger a little bit. Not as much as I'd like. Only on certain parts of it. I think that's a good sign though.

theOperaGhost
July 4th, 2008, 12:03 PM
Good! I'm glad you're home now, I know that you obviously hated going to the hospital.

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 12:25 PM
Ya, it definitely wasn't fun. I'm going back in 2 months when they take off this cast (I'm not sure what it is, but it's slightly softer than a cast, but I can't move my wrist or any fingers except my thumb just like a cast...). Then when they take it off they'll decide when to take my stitches out.

July 4th, 2008, 12:29 PM
Elliot, I am sure glad this episode is over! And thank you for going to the hospital and getting it treated, it was absolutely the right thing to do.

In the future I'd really encourage you to do something different at the times when you're really stressed out. This cutting stuff is really dangerous.

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 12:33 PM
Shouldn't I thank you? And I've noticed it seems that it isn't the best option. I'm trying. I really am. I just suck at trying.

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 12:40 PM
Ya, it's getting there. I'm getting the e feeling back. My pinky is still dead, but my ring finger is healing

July 4th, 2008, 12:48 PM
Hey man, good luck with your two fingers "Thanks for the help all of you and sorry I was an ass" about that, is ok you were panicked i guess there is not much time to think when that happens, so we all understand!

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 12:55 PM
Ya, I hope they get better. Ya, a little bit of a panicy moment.

Lord C
July 4th, 2008, 03:38 PM
Is it that you were cutting yourself? If so and you need to relieve stress then eating/drinking soup really helps. I know it sounds a bit weird, but I find it works.

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 03:44 PM
The cut on my wrist? Yes. Eating soup? Sure, I'll try. lol Thanks.

george
July 4th, 2008, 04:06 PM
Yay :D Its good that your back home now. Your fingers are probably healing up and the nerves in them right now or w/e so you should start moving your fingers soon :D Yay for moving fingers. Are they like still pale white??

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 04:12 PM
My ring finger looks ok now. They definitely aren't perfect.

george
July 4th, 2008, 04:19 PM
Yay for blood being inside fingers :D So can you only move your ring finger?

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 04:26 PM
kind of. I can only jiggle my fingers around with the thing that keeps me from moving my wrist. I can feel if I jab it with a knife tthough. That's kinda good. lol I think that if they took off the wrist thing that it woulld be really weak. I'm not even sure why. Is it like, something in my wrist (nerves i guess) that l must've damaged?

george
July 4th, 2008, 04:51 PM
I'm guessing thats what happened so right now I wouldn't recommend arm/hand very much while your body is healing everything lol

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 05:15 PM
Ok.lol I have barely used my right hand hand today.

byee
July 4th, 2008, 07:28 PM
Elliot, I think you might want to call the doctor that worked on you and ask him about movement and feeling in those fingers. I'm not sure you want to wait until the cast comes off in 2 months, and I'm a bit surprised no one wants to see you for a follow up/check up until then. This was pretty serious, I'd think they would want to have a look see before then, and you'd want them to, too.

Maybe you should give a call?

SirRawrsalot
July 4th, 2008, 10:31 PM
I told them and they said that all I can do is wait. The doctor said that it has a better chance of healing if I don't move my wrist (hence the cast). This is why American health care is evil. There's obviously something they can do, I'm just poor. Speaking of being poor, medicaid will cover it, but I have a fee of like 430 dollars. I think the due date is like by December 15th. (I got it on my voice message.). So, that's not as bad as not getting any help at all.
