Well, firstly, I would suggest that you get off that download site. You are probably getting tracked by the FBI and not know it. It's illegal.

I'm not surprised that almost all of the genres are punk or alternative. I'm not sure where rock went. But it obviously died and no one came to the funeral.

No, it doesn't.....It's a disgrace to what used to be rock. Rock basically died in the late 90s. The 80s had to be the high point for rock next to the seventies. Now, it's just a dead genre to me.

I don't care. Rock used to be the God of all music. Then, rap came in, along with more genres and then it just got ignored. Everyone has their own definition of rock.

Everything has kind of moved up a place if you like in the rap - rock scale.

Pop nowaday would be considered hip hop/RnB. Rock nowaday would be considered pop. Rock has gone to Metal. Metal has gone to "old Music".

Anyway I think it's stupid how bands are "indie". It's such a stupid name. It's short for independant, but label companies are treating it as a genre.

You want stupidity? My iPod classifies Motorhead- Ace of Spades as Folk Music
