This is a short one:
This Evening's Stroll I Take Alone
This evening's stroll
I take alone,
Breathing hard to clear my head
Of brandy drunk too long and too fast
And relinquished now at last.
Yesterday the highs were high
And Valleys painfully deep.
Today as I walk a flat and easy plain
With nowhere else to go.
The only truth
Remaining to entice me now
Is surely a sprig of mint.
Crushed it makes thee point.
The patron saint of might-have-beens
Has won this toss.
The benedictions are his to give.
It may be short, but it took a pretty long time to write. So, like always, nice comments are appreciated and I enjoy reading them, but constructive criticism is the best (or you could not post at all, up to you :) ). Thanks for reading.
