My friend is going to the mall to get his tongue pierced and he wants me to come with him. I was wondering that since I'm going with him is it a good idea to get a tongue pierce? I never really knew if it was painful or harmful or anything.

Well my brothers girlfriend told me that it don't hurt ans my friend told me it hurts alot, so I guess it depends on your pain threshold. But either way your havind a needle pushed through your tongue. Kinda yuk... but I still want 1 =)

it's easy for these to get infected. Be sure he knows how to take care of it and stuff.
Once the piercing is healed, it won't hurt any more and it'll be fine. As long as it heals right, and it's pierced with a big enough gauge so it doesn't reject or migrate, he will probably enjoy it!

Personally, I don't think this is a particularly good idea ... a) I'm sure it's very painful to get a metal bar shot through your tongue, b) My sister-in-law got her tongue pierced, and for a week afterwards it was so swollen she had a lot of trouble talking, swallowing and eating, c) When you think about it, it's not terribly hygienic; it's been scientifically proven that a dogs mouth is more sanitary than a humans, so having an open wound in their doesn't seem like the way to go, d) TBH, it doesn't really look it that great, it's just not cool.

Well I decided not to get one. My friend got his earlier today. And his mouth is swollen and his tongue is bleeding.
I still want to get one in the future though. Probably when I reach another state of mind.
