I was not sure where to post this and I apoligize if this is the wrong category.
Recently my scrotum became quite itchy (NOT pubic lice, I checked) I have scratched at it and recently I think I've scratched it too much as there are now scabs on it. What should I do? I am also curious as to what may have started the itch to begin with.
Thanks.

Everyone gets itchy scrotums. if that was it then u scratched it too much. If there were more symptoms then it may be something else. I'm no expert tho! (sorry for my bas spelling, i've lost my glasses!)

yeah that sounds right.
Everybodys balls itch. You ask any man he'd be like "hell yeah".
No reason. Maybe sweat or something. But really I have no idea. It's not that big of a deal anyway. Just put some lotion on it, if you have an anti itch thing, try that so it can heal without itching more. And just leave it alone. No big deal.

Itches occur everywhere, but if you're scratching yourself raw, there's a reason for it.
In the summer, you do sweat there more, and that warm, moist environment is fertile breeding ground for all sorts of things, like yeasts and fungals and such.
Best diagnosis: Take a whiff. They smell baaaaad, very cheesy, very pungent, very sichening, unlike any other odor on your body, or those parts.
In the mean time, try clean, cotton, loose fitting boxers and maybe a bit of corn starch powder to absorb excess moisture after dialy shower. And avoid the temptation to really scratch.
If that doesn't work, see the doc.

The itchyness is PROBABLY caused by hair growing in.

You could just have a case of jock itch. (a form of ringworm) If this is the case it should go away in a week maybe. Like everyone else has said though it's natural to have mild itching. If it's severe though,(scratching yourself raw) you might have jock itch, which has to do with sweat and bacteria "down there". Try using an anti-fungal cream like Lamisil or Lotrimin to help clear it up faster. Or it could just be normal itching, if it is, you just have to live with it. :D
