I think we are who we are, and if we knew how we got to be that way, it would be easier for folks to tolerate and accept those that are different. no one actually 'chooses' their sexuality, be it gay or straight, it's just who we are, like our gender.

However, that said, i'm straight but pretty secure in who I am, so I respect and tolerate who others are, no matter what their difference might be.

I agree with Sam. I don't think people really make a choice about what sexuality they are. I think people are born either straight or gay. It's set in their brain. Of course during puberty, people become curious, but I don't think curiosity would really change what we are set to be.

I'm straight, but I also respect and tolerate other people for their differences.

This question has no answer. It would be impossible to come up with an explanation as to why certain people have certain sexualities. But I do have a theory on early life but then again things like that could be a coincidence. I have always lived with women so maybe that has something to do with it. But the way I see it is this, we are just who we are. We didn't see a movie, or read a book, or drink fabric softener to become the sexuality that we are.

I think that mainly, you don't choose. You're born who you are. But I do think that people can go through experiences that will change their mind, or bring out the truth. That's just me.

Its not because of any God or devine being seeing as they shunned the homosexuals. Being a gay/lesbian is totally natural and comes from nature itself. More of our ancestors who nearly died out and had to asexually reproduce. We became dependent on the same sex and thats my theory on how sexualities came to be. Still, people don't respect them as natural, look at hitler the second highes minority of people killed during his reign where Gays/lesbians. But still its all natural and I think people should all feel the same way. I believe in fate, and that it was fate that brought me too Noor.
