Now after your done drooling over me leet scores :D :P, look at the bottom.
Massachusetts is suppost to be one of the best states in terms of public schooling. Now if that is the case, I can not imagin what the scores are out of Massachusetts.
Math:
61% of the state scored In needs improvement or Warning.
That is fucking pathetic.
Science & Technology:
67% of the state scored in needs improvement or Warning.
Also fucking pathetic.

America needs a major overhaul or something of the school system. This is not exceptable.

thats just depressing. somtimes i think that public schools are just toying with the children. they force you to go for 7 hours a day to learn somting you could in 2 hours.

well, its 6. Here they are toying with the idea to make it 8. that would suck ass.
Teachers need to be paid more, and there must be better learning standards.
Even with that, you cant do anything unless the children are willing to learn, which over half of them arnt.

I hate school, because I have to sit around and what Kolte said, learn in 7 hours what I could learn in 2. The American public school system needs to be shut down, and private tutors paid for by the government needs to be sent to the homes of individuals, or groups of kids with similar learning styles need to be grouped up within school, instead of 25 students with 25 different learning styles being grouped in one classroom. You are right, the test scores of American students ARE really fucking pathetic. WE CAN DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, you are right again, teachers deserve more pay, and educational standards need to be up'd.

I hate to say this but i am very VERy anti high school and anti college especialy.

High sucks for several reasons. mainly because it is state ran that makes it state corrupted. Show me a school system that is not corrupt and i will show you that the same school is where beaver cleaver goes to school. Also teachers are underpaid, thus way less likely to do their jobs. Lastly, all public school does anymore is teach students to pass standerized tests. You just aren't learning anytihng anymore except how to get into college. so what are you learning in college?

How to spend money! Ok so i am a college grad, what do you think the employers are going to want to see...my transcript or my degree? Thats right they want to see that litle pretty piece of paper. I'm sorry but 16 weeks of a general subject taught at rote level is going to do anyone anygood. So you are just paying thousands of dollars for a stamped piece of paper.

my $.02

I'm not sure teachers are that underpaied. My mom, great aunt, aunt, grandma are all teachers, and they enjoyed very laxed retierment, getting a huge social security pay back. Also, my mother makes quite a bit teaching, and my aunt just bought another house, And the funny part is there all single, and have kids, and do fine.

Are you crazy? School period is not a good way to learn how to function in society.......you are not going to be grouped with other people within a year of your age when you work or anything. School is bullshit

Why do we always look at book smarts as the ultimate "smart?"

RunAwayMolly

I like to consider wisdom much more important then conventional smarts

Whisper

Knowledge (book smarts) is power
Wisdom is the ability to know what to do with it

You need both
One you get threw studying
The other threw experiences and time

public schools have a lot of probelms from students not wanting to learn and one reason is teachers not doing a good job. Most students learn when its interesting not just reading a book. Teachers are as much to blame as the students it the teachers did activites that are either fun or interesting students will learn more. Ask any student that question and they will say they learn more from fun or interesting activites.
