I'm sure everyone has thought about this before so lets get some debating going. What do you think are we born gay(Nature) or is it something that is learned(nurture). Here's what I think, we are born gay and there is nothing we can do about it. If I had a choice I wouldn't have any kind of attraction to guys because I don't like it. I'll post some more once we get a debate started and people of opposing sides post their opinions.

I think its nurture because its a choice, and nobody is born with choices made for them (well by 'fate', parents dont count).

Nuture isn't necessarily a choice because we cannot change the environment around us and choose what influences us as kids.

As far back as I remember I have been interested in guys and not interested in girls at all (kindergarden)

I say that it is more of nature, and some nurture

I think its nature due to the fact that your brain makes your personalty and sexualaty and so on.

I vote nature.

Every gay and lesbian friend that I've had have told me that they've been attracted to the same sex ever since they were little, it wasn't something that they picked up on. Even my friend Tim's mom told me that he used to stare at attractive men who were on the TV screen when he was little. It's just in you.

Both. I had some complex theory about sexuality and how we discover who we are, but I forgot it a little over a month ago... Anyways, it went something like, We are not born heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual. The idea that homosexuality is no longer considered a paraphilia leads me to believe that it is not something directly coded for in your genes. This leads me to believe that you are born most likely leaning towards a sexuality, and based on personal experiences, you eventually decide on a specific sexuality. This would explain why a lot of people are curious during their teen years. When they are curious they choose to experiment, and by experimenting, possibly with both sexes, they may decide I like this sex better, or I like the other sex better. Based on this, if you are born "leaning towards" homosexuality, you will most likely end up being gay, BUT, there is that slight possibility that through personal experiences and possibly even how you are brought up, you could turn bi over even possibly straight. The same goes for heterosexuality and bisexuality.
