um sometimes that happens to me ( I don't masturbate) but sometimes at random a sex related thing or sometimes not pops into my head. When your masturbating as artic fox said you could already be horny.

maybe you're just not in the mood. I mean sometimes we jack off when we're really not that horny, just to feel good, so fantisising really doesn't help, and yet other times we fantisise to get horny and jack off but we can't.
