Im a 15 year old boy who is currently in the depths of depression.
I just want to try and help other people in my situation. I am a musician and play the piano. I find that when i am at my worst times , and when i get angry , that just going and sitting by myself and playing really helps me.
My advice would just be, if you have depression , or are trying to recover from grief , then taking up a musical instrument, or other creative tasks , such as painting, is really beneficial and can really calm you down.

I agree, and what a nice, welcoming gesture to give rep. Right back at ya!

Anyway, anything that makes you feel good and competent is greatly appreciated when you're depressed. For you, it's music, for others, maybe something else. But, finding outlets that are satisfying is such an important thing, good for you for being able to tap into that source.

As a musician myself (I play the cello), I find myself at great peace when I play (which is as often as I can). Not only does it sound nice, but the concentration required really blocks out whatever else is in your mind, a great stress reliever!

Welcome, I'm glad you found us!

I personally love music. I play the keyboard. But it doesn't work for me. I always play things slowly on a Grand Piano sound and it just makes me more depressed. So here's a tip: If you're me, don't play keyboard ;]
