When you go do a physical exam what do doctors check?

In a typical checkup, the doctors will probably check:

-your height and weight
-your blood pressure
-your heart rate
-breathing
-hernias (genitals)
-and sight

they might check something else, I just forgot for right now because I had to type this post really fast

Yep.

There's also oftentimes a Q&A session, where the doctor asks about sexual activity, substance use, etc. It depends on the doctor, but Flex's list is pretty much the standard stuff :)

Looks about right. But also these two
-Ear drums ( for any infections and such)
-Reflexes
-And usually a nerve check. When they take a flexible, silicon needle and pokes certain areas on your foot)

Fells odd to give and get physicals. Just odd.

OK, the real question the OP is asking is: What will the doctor do with my penis and testicles? Right? No one really cares about the little hammer thingy, or the wooden stick and saying "Ahhh", right?

The doctor will feel both of your testicles very briefly, and he will do a hernia check by asking you to cough twice (once per testicle)while he presses a finger against each side of your testicles. If you've got a foreskin, he will either ask you to roll it back, or do it himself, and look around. If you don't have one, he'll lift up your penis and look around it's glans (head). There's a 50% chance you'll get an erection, no big deal. And that part of the exam seems like an eternity, but lasts maybe a minute. That's it.

I've seen my prof ask the parent of the patient to usually leave. SO just another thing. I'm not sure if it's done by every doctor though.

Good point, Alex, most teen exams are done w/o the parent in the room.

I had one not long ago, and they normally ask if you want to be alone in the room.

actually, regarding parents in the room, my doctor always asks my mom to come in. haven't had a physical by myself yet

They basically check everything. Varies with age.
