I've been looking at some of my music sheets and I would like to know what keys make up the D major 7 chord and A flat minor 7.
Any help here?

I'm assuming for piano.
D Major 7:
D - F# - A - C#

Ab Major 7:
Ab - C - D# - G

You said Ab minor, so if you want that, I think it is:
Ab - B - Eb - Gb or G depending on which type of minor it is. There are three different minor scales.
But if you actually wanted the major, then Rex has got it right.
I'm pretty good at theory, but I hate trying to figure out minors. They sound cool, but they suck to figure out for some reason for me.

what does the 7 mean when you say "D major 7"?

Instead of playing a normal chord (1, 3, 5, 8) you play 1,3,5,7. I think it is mostly used on guitars, but it's used on piano some as well.

what does the 7 mean when you say "D major 7"?
You use a seventh finger. Just a lot of stretching involved
