Yesterday, on June 12th 2008, the Irish public were asked to vote on the Lisbon Reform Treaty, as a referendum.

Today, on June 13th 2008 at 17:10pm approx. GMT the Irish public voted NO
to The Lisbon Treaty. It won by a margin of 56.6% to 43.4%

I love it. 3,000,000 had to decide the fate of a Treaty that would effect the whole of Europe. And because we said NO, the Treaty is dead in its current forum. All because we said NO.

We had to vote because our national constitution would have to changed to adopt this new EU Treaty. But we voted NO. And to ratify the treaty all countries in Europe need to say YES.

Europes only chance to become a superpower is a federal Europe, united politically, economically and social, when the treaties get rejected, we are just slowing our progress, in the current global climate we need a Europe united not a Europe divided
