How do you edit the description on a social group you created?

There is a small blue bar at the bottom of the social group message page.

There is a small tab that says "Edit group" click on that and you will see the description in a box and you can change it there.

there's probably something wrong with the permissions. Kiros probably knows the answer :worthy:

In the mean time, you may be able to have the description changed by PMing an admin.

Well i feel kinda silly asking a mod/admin to go in considering it is only changing a couple of words, but if you don't mind could you change the description to:
Build
Your
Own
P
C
Name says it all, this is a group for those who like custom solutions to their computer needs, and don't mind getting their hands dirty with thermal grease. Thanks:)

Well that was a little strange with the permissions, there was some contradicting permissions going on. Anyway it has been sorted now. Members, regardless, are now not able to edit their own social group. I don't want a trend to begin with people wanting to change things with their social groups. When you create it, try and create it with a long term view. I would be reluctant to edit and change a social group.

So if a change needs to be made please contact an admin, but remember that changes need to have a very good reason with them, otherwise they won't be processed.

^^ Further to that, why can't non-mods edit their own post in the social groups?

Hmm you cant. Wow that solves some things. It may be because then mods cant see what has been edited. For instance usually if something major was said a member would quote the post or a mod would be able to see the edited post but we cant do that with social groups so we would nto be able to see potential posts.
Although a rebuttal to that would be that the forums write the exact post when its reported. So yeah....lets wait for an admin answer on that one.

Because if people were given the ability to edit, with it they are also given the ability to delete their own messages. We don't allow that on the forums generally so we won't allow it there.
