Hi I'm Maritn,

I'm 15 years old and live in Germany, in the town of Hagen, near Dortmund, I think you won't know it.
I'm very interested in other cultures, e.g. the American. I hope I'll learn somethin about the American every-day-life here.
My hobbys are reading, meeting friends, swimming, philosophy and other things.
Sry for faults in my English, but it isn#t my mother tongue.

If you have other questions to me, you can write and ask me.

Hi i am jon

Dr. Nick Riviera
October 6th, 2005, 11:54 AM
yes I think they going to form a grand coalation. you know I'm a member of the SPD, so I was quite happy that there won't be a coalation between the Neoliberal FDP and the konservative-christian CDU......

Hi Ash.............

I think Merkel will be chancelloress, one have to be that realistic you know. I prefered Schröder but it is like it is, I think it would have been the best when the red-green coalation would have won the elections.......

Hallo! I studied the German language during the previous school year, and that's some of what I remember. (I think that means hello.) A song in German I learned is entitled O'Tannenbaum. I learned this in (what I think in Germany is called primary school.) All I remember about the song is "O'Tannenbaum" (which in English means "O Christmas Tree.) And Beirenbaum is peach tree, right? (I once had a therapist with this last name.) Well, enough said, I am very new, I have been a member for less than a day now, so I will welcome you even though I'm not really in the position to-welcome!

Queen Latifah ~ When You're Good To Momma

Ask any of the chickies in my pen
They'll tell you I'm the biggest mother hen
I love 'em all and all of them love me
Because the system works
The system called reciprocity...

Got a little motto
Always sees me through
When you're good to Mama
Mama's good to you.

There's a lot of favors
I'm prepared to do
You do one for Mama
She'll do one for you.

They say that life is tit for tat
And that's the way I live
So, I deserve a lot of tat
For what I've got to give
Don't you know that this hand
Washes that one too
When you're good to Mama
Mama's good to you!

If you want my gravy
Pepper my ragout
Spice it up for Mama
She'll get hot for you

When they pass that basket
Folk contribut to
You put in for Mama
She'll put out for you

The folks atop the ladder
Are the ones the world adores
So boost me up my ladder, Kid
And I'll boost you up yours

Let's all stroke together
Like the Princeton crew
When you're strokin' Mama
Mama's strokin' you

So what's the one conclusion
I can bring this number to?
When you're good to Mama
Mama's good to you!

Hey. I live in Kentucky, USA. It's nice here. I would like to visit Europe, and Germany would be a place on my interest list. I think that 'O Tannenbaum' is such a beautiful song, the way its sung in German. Well, I've heard of Dortmund from a former teacher, that was a couple of years ago.

Dr. Nick Riviera

Hi Fear,
yeah and Hagen is exactly under Dortmund...........How is it in Kentucky??? There are ranches and so aren't they???? Do you live in a town or in a village????

nachtspiegel

I live in a city/town, and there are ranches in Texas. We have a lot of horse farms here in Kentucky, and a derby, and in one part of the state, the way the sun shines on the grass, it appears to be blue. Thats how we got the name "The Bluegrass State." There are many beautiful places here, but at the same time, the roads leading to those small towns and beautiful land are dangerous narrow 2-lane road that has steep hills on each side with no guard rails. I was on one of these such roads once, and a wide firetruck came through and almost ran us off the road. Where I live, it's violent. Drug deals, prostitiution, murder, high dropout rates, you name it, this part of Kentucky has it, unfortunately. Some of the farms are like ranches, so I guess thats not really a bad idea of Kentucky. There are lots of available land, and when I turn 18, I'm getting my own house on a large piece of land so that I can have some privacy. But yes, most of Kentucky is nice, but the eastern part is mainly towns with low-income citizens, and the west is coal mines. Kentucky really isn't a rich state, but again, still nice.

Dr. Nick Riviera

So you told me about Kentucky and I'm gonna tell you about "Nordrhein Westfahlen"
It is the German land with the highest population, over 17 Million people are living here. Until the 70es here were many coal mines and steel factories, but after two crises, the Steel and Coal Crise, many people became unemployed. Along the river Ruhr are many big cities like Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg, Bochum and Düsseldorf, our capital.
In the south east is the "Sauerland", many tourists from the towns and the Netherlands go there for holidays. In the North is the "Münsterland" in the middle is the town if Münster, with its big and famous unsiversity.
Along the river Rhein is the "Rheinland" famous for its wines, at the Rhein there is Köln, famous for its cathedral and as gay stronghold.

So thats something about my federal country.......

Thats some interesting stuff.....it shows that you really know about where you live, instead of a lot of people not knowing the name of a neighboring street.
