Well if she wasn't crying the first time then I wouldn't say sorry. She's being a tattle tale. Tell the teacher that it was all meant for a joke and that she was having fun.

Just say that you were all joking around with eachother and that she was having a great time.

She obviously thinks she can get her way by telling lies.

And so you shouldn't let her. She isn't even a tattle tale then; she wasn't even upset in the first place! It sounds like she did it purely to get you in trouble, so make sure the teacher knows that!

What's done is done.
If I were you, I wouldn't apologize since it seems she was out to get you in trouble the minute the teacher walked in. She was involved in the water fight as well, so she had no room getting anybody in trouble, she's just as guilty.

A gentleman always apologizes when something he does causes distress to another. The fact that she fingered you as the guilty party (which you were, afterall), doesn't take away from the fact that you DID soak her. The fact that she omitted the others is irrelevant to your question.

In apologizing, however, you have the opportunity to address your grievance (that you got the brunt of the punishment b/c she omitted the others involvement). You can ask her why she did this, and let her know that although you're genuinely sorry for bothering her, you didn't appreciate bearing the brunt of the punishment.

Did you get in-school suspension, a write up, or a Discipline ticket? I don't know what they do for discipline in England, but if you didn't get anything like that than, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think YOU should say sorry and then move on.

Well in england it really depends on the school as to what they disipline you with. A detention or an after school one, it would go on your record whatever happened.
Anyway, what did your teacher say when you told her that the girl was just as guilty?
You could make a personal complaint towards your head of year, or your tutor.

In a situation like this I wouldn't necessarily go about thinking if it's the right thing to do but more of is it the more mature thing to do. I think you should the maturity and go apologize that way you can regain a good impression with the teacher and also maybe the girl will begin to feel guilty about what she did. I know that it's hard to do but just show that you are a lot more mature than she is.
