I firmly believe the world will come to an end in 2012, unless it ends before 2012. I think that even if the prophecies that have been made turn out to be false, we will not have the chance to note that they were false, as I think even having the idea of the end on our mind, we increase our chances of seeing the end sooner rather than later. I think a great disaster will strike, whether it be the fault of man, nature, or the unknown, and I believe, if we do not all die, the world as we know it will be irreversibly changed.

Why would it end in 2012 when there havve been loads of these prophecies. The scientists say the world will last like a billion more years or more.,or was that the sun.

I totally agree with you! In 4 years that day is gonna come. Then it will be the next day. Nothing will have happened, but I can guarantee you that they'll come up with a new date as soon as they figure out that the world didn't end! The next date will probably in a few years from 2012 or something.

In any case, I'm gonna find out exactly WHO are the people that believe in this sorta thing that I know personally. And when that day comes.... I am going to have SO MUCH FUN making them believe the world is over :P

I'm not going to be cowering in my home, and I am not anticipating the end. I am simply aware that the end is a possibility. I'm not going to shrug this off and says its nothing, but I'm not going to bow down to this idea and say the world is going to end on December 21, 2012, and go hide in a bomb shelter. I'm going to go outside in a crowded era and pray to the great machine that the end comes, because I want to bear witness to the end. I want to see everything crumble to the ground.

There have been doomsday prophecies all throughout time - and not crackpot ones, ones that people seriously believed and got ready for.

People thought the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki would end the world.

People thought the influenza epidemic in the 1910's would end the world, as well as the Spanish Flu in the late 1800's.

People thought WWI and WWII would be the end of the world.

Just like all the computers were suppose to explode in the Year 2000. None of that stuff happened but I know one things for sure 2012 will probably be the funnest year of them all if it's ending or not I'm gonna do everything that I've wanted to, me and my friends have already discussed it. No the world will not end. It will only end when it ends lol. No one can predict when the world ends. It will happen suddenly. At least that's what the bible said. So, I think people spend too much time trying to predict when the world will end. No one will ever know unless they're god of course.
