View Full Version : Wtf... Threads Stay Unread

For some reason whenever I click a thread, and then leave the thread, it stays listed as unread. Anyone know why it's doing that? Even when I reply to the thread, it still lists it as unread. I wonder if this could be related to Kiros's very recent update?

Uh... The cookie setting?

Have you tried logging out and logging in?
Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache?

And in the future, please try to use more appropriate thread titles. No one can guess what a topic called "Wtf..." is about.

This happens to me too. I suggest that you just keep doing that but spending at least 30 seconds on the page and then going to a different one. Also, you know if you double click on the icon that shows the thing that is unread it clears it. But yes this happens to me often also.

Did it happen since a change - like the upgrade to vBulletin 3.7.1 or when I changed the cookie settings a couple days ago?

What OS and web browser are you using?

Do you have a firewall that might have a strict cookie setting?

Have you cleared out everything (cache and cookies) and restarted the web browser?

All I had to do was log out and log back in and it was fixed. I'm not sure about John though.

Kiros did you get my email? Yesterday it said the servers were busy on everything i clicked for about an hour and a message said to email you, but then it was fixed.

Yes, I've been getting everyone's emails.

I'm very glad that many members participate in this, as it's showing me that we need to change some settings, however, I cannot respond to every email, or even most of them because of the lack of time I have - only temporarily, though. At any rate, everything is apparently making the server a little too loaded down, so I might disable showing the shoutbox to guests because deploying the thing means generating a lot of code.

Right, so anyway, I'm glad to see that logging out and in resolved the issue.
