I am 13 and a half years old and I've started to grow Pubic Hair, Underarm hair and leg hair. My upper lip hair started to grow and my arm hair started to grow, but I shaved my upper lip, under arms and arms because people say if you shave hair, it'll just grow back in faster. But is this really true, its been 3 days, my under arm hair is still small, my upper lip hair is very very little, and arm hair is very very little. Was this a foolish thing to do?

I don't Know if it true. I don't shave or haven't shaved yet. Um Maybe because when I get a hair cut it grows faster ( or it seems to) but It may not. It will take more than 3 days for it to grow back if you did shave it so you will have to wait. I don't know if that is true but you will have to wait for it to grow backs.

I don't believe it's true. One reason why it may seem to grow back faster is because it actually is, it just isn't from the shaving. It would've started going faster, shaved or not. Another myth about shaving (Which doesn't exactly apply to the OP), is that when you shave it will grow back "more". That's also not true, it appears to grow back "more" because it's growing back thicker.

I don't beleive this either. The reason why hair your grows is becuase your hormones are all around ya body, and they do something that makes your hair grow. I think that's just a myth. I shave and it doesn't grow back quicker.

It does not grow back faster, but rougher. Facial and pubic hair looks as though it is growing faster because the rough cut edge is more apparent (the hair is smooth and pointed before you cut it) and makes you think that it is growing back faster. So yea, your hair just grows back rougher, but not faster.

One may also think that their pubic hair will grow faster if you cut it because once pubic hair gets to a certain length, it will usually fall out. When your hairs are all at the longest, or near the longest length that they can get, they seem as though the stop growing, making you unconciously think that this is the rate at which they grow. Now when you shave your pubic hair, it is not close to the length at which it would fall out and therefore will grow at the actual rate of growth until it reaches that point. Basically, when your pubic hairs are longer (uncut) you are tricked to think that they just grow really slowly, when in reality they basically stop growing, and when you cut them, they actually grow at the actual rate of growth which is several times that of when they are longer.

to me, the more you shave, the faster it grows back, and the longer it can become. I've shaved my legs once, and within a few days, it was back, same lenght, maybe a bit longer

it is in general, but I don't know if it'll speed up the puberty bit - body hair rarely gets longer and I don't think shaving is going to speed that up, but I really don't know what I'm talking about... Really it doesn't matter, why would you want it to grow faster - it doesn't make a difference...

I doubt it's true, but give it time. Hair doesn't really grow back in 3 days.
