Ok, so my little brother is 13 years old now and I'm 15 (almost 16). My voice hasn't changed, or not fully at least. I have some underarm hair, pubes, and not fully grown leg hair. But my problem is, I think my little brother I THINK is starting to have a voice change, and it's kinda noticeable. It's bugging me because, honestly, how horrible would it look if your little brother had a deeper voice than you? And to make it worse, he's about 3 years younger than me. I just don't know what I'm going to do. Also, his friend already has a deep voice. Him and his friend have deeper voices, but no hair...anywhere. I just don't understand why my voice change is basically happening last, while his is happening first. It just feels awful.

i can understand how annoying and frustrating it is for you, but the fact of the matter is, is that puberty and the associated bodily changes happen at different time for different people. also the order in which you develop can be very different from person to person. try and be patient, your voice will deepen in time.

Thanks guys. I don't know though. He's going into 8th grade and I'm going to be a junior in high school. I try to hide my higher voice by not talking as much, and honestly, I'd rather talk. I don't know, it seems like I'm overreacting, but every single friend I have has had a deep voice for god knows how long, and so has every one else I somewhat know in my grade. I just wish there was something easier to do than just waiting...it is killing me :(

You sound very competitive with your brother. But, you can change that, this all gives you a reason to do that.

Listen, out there, there's always going to be someone with something that you either do not have or desperately want. You have to be able to deal with that without driving yourself crazy, or (maybe worse) compensating by not showing/revealing what you see in yourself as a deficit, like your decision to not talk now. Don't so that, it doesn't change the fact that you and he are different, it looks a bit weird, and it holds you back. Start talking.

Focus on the things you have, those qualities that make you who you are and are special, forget those things that you feel you're lacking. In time, your voice will change, and you'll grow more hairs, too. Meanwhile, try to remember that what's really important is the stuff you have some control over (like the person you are and how you live your life), and that the depth of a person is far more important than anything you can see that doesn't require words to figure out.

at least he's isn't your little sister.
now THAT would be awkward.

ANYWAY. yeah i think i would be a little embarrassed too if i were in that situation.
but i guess there is nothing you can do but wait it through
