Well the best way to get ready for wrestling seaon now is to work out with a high school team or a free style team right now and during the summer. Don't worry about your weight right now. You only have to wear the singelt when wrestling in a match and ususally people don't see your package when you are wrestling and most people are not looking there while you are wrestling. Well good luck I will help you out with any question that you have if I can.

There are a lot of things you can do to get ready for wrestling, like lion said you can work out with a high school or free style team, a lot of places have wrestling camps you can go to but all you really have to do is basically just work out.
About your singlet, I've already told you to not worry about it because almost everyone gets a boner when wrestling and other people don't care.

The best thing to do is bulk up as much as possible in the offseason by lifting a lot of weights and eating a lot of protien. However when you are a few months before the season, you want to start doing more cardio and lose the necessary weight so you are not struggling to make weight throughout the season by changing your diet. This makes practice a lot easier also as you are already in somewhat shape and saves all the effort trying to cut weight. See if you can also wrestle during the summer at camps or open mats. It would hurt at all if you learned freestyle or greco-roman. And trust me, when you are on the mat, you are too focused and tired to get a boner. I have been elbowed in the balls during a match and was too focused to feel the pain. Hoped this helped.

wrestling is alot of fun, i really dont use wrestling in the conventional highschool point system way but its an effective tool to maintain a dominant position to be able to utilize the ground and pound.

Hey, sorry to bump up a bit of an old thread.
I'm thinking of starting at a wrestling school in Scotland soon and really want to bulk up. I use the weights and stuff and I'm fine with that. But I'm more concerned about food. What kind of food is protein?

amino acids are also important but meats, nuts, and whey protein are good things to be eating.
