OK, so I want to loose some weight. Not much, just a stone. It'll keep my bmi in the healthy range still, I'd just feel better about myself if i were a stone or stone and a half lighter. What can I do? I don't really eat junk, but I know eat healthy, exersice blah blah blah, but I'm doing that. Help?

Excersize will also help, if you're into sports play some football or whatever. If not go jogging or biking.. it doesn't have to be much, just burn off a few more calories :)

If you're doing all of the right things but not losing any weight, then I think it's a sign that you're at the lowest possible weight you can be without having to resort to drastic actions.

Also, it might help to remember that muscle weighs twice as much as fat, so some of that stone you want to lose may just be muscle :)

Didn't think you might be lol. Or you could get a couple of cheap weights and do a bit of weight lifting, all helps.

Drink lots of water. If you drink a lot of sugary stuff, stop.

What a coincidence as I am watching Oprah on a show on weight loss. I just saw a guy on there that ate 6-8 small meals a day. He didn't eat anything within 3 hours of his bed time.

In addition to that eat healthy (veggies, water, fruits, etc.). Exercise 4-6 times per week.

AND REMAIN MOTIVATED!
Have the will power to actually do it. Convince your mind to want the weight to shed.

Good luck!

I want to get the weight off first before I build any muscle. I know I'm not at my limit because I used to be 2 - 2 and a half stones lighter than I am now.

British form of weight. It equals to 14lbs, or about 6.35 kilos.

rudi, you know to gain muscle you NEED fat. if you have no fat you wont get muscle.
in fact my brotehr drink shakes that make him gain fat so that he can turn it into muscle.

this is whey excersizing and anorexica are a very dangerous combination (not implying anything, i just watched intervention on a woman who was anorexic and over excerzied)

That's now how it works. Muscle cells and fat cells are different. Fat cells store excess energy to be burned off when immediate sources of energy aren't available. Muscles are intimately involved, usually in opposites (like bicep against tricep), in movement.

No fat doesn't mean no muscle. Big muscle mass means less fat, because enlarged muscle will require lots of energy just to stay in that hypertrophied condition... that is until to stop using them, then they'll go back to normal. (No fat means the body has little to go to in times of starvation. The worse would be the body resorting to breaking down the proteins in your body for energy.)

Because fat cells are different than muscle cells, you can’t convert fat to muscle, contrary to common belief.

Rudi, continue staying active and eating well. Don't worry too much. Up your basal metabolism. You'll get there.
