I'd upgrade to Windows XP if I were you.

I don't see why everyone is hating Vista. Vista is a solid OS. Even if it boggs down your machine, you can turn the "prettiness" off, to free up resources. But it's got 2 gigs of RAM, the most Vista has ever used for me (Running idle) is 350MB, that gives him at least 1.6ish gigs to work with. It's fine.

@Piano, that's a fairly nice laptop you got there. But, I hate gateways (No offense), I have always had bad luck with their hardware, then their tech-support when things fail. All I can say, is good luck to you.

I'd say its a pretty good computer but I don't really like laptops anymore because the past 2 laptops that I've had, the charger brakes because the pin inside of it is messed up so I couldn't charge them anymore.

I think AMD is fine. I personally don't care if I have an AMD or an Intel processor running on my computer, as long it's not bottom of the line stuff, like Sempron for AMD and Celeron for Intel. I've used processors from both companies in my computers over the years.

The price was pretty good, but if the laptop was smaller (14.1") that would have been great. I don't think you should be feeling any buyer's remorse.

Well, Intel is superior now. I really don't care what company the chip is from, just that it's a damn good chip. They both make decent chips, Intel's are just a bit better nowadays. Very nice laptop, though. You didn't pay top dollar, so I wouldn't expect to see top end.

It doesn't matter when you get Vista, you get the same exact updates as everyone else. Most likely you have a shitty-ass security suite (Or none at all) and your computer is crawling with viruses/spyware/malware/trojans.

I agree, I have a Core2Duo In my computer and AMD in my laptop. Both are quick.

Not a bad laptop for the money. Definately put XP on it. After about an hour vista is using 100% CPU all the time and I have to reboot, did the same on my desktop.

Runs like a bag of ***t on a computer that it came pre-installed with.

XP runs so much quicker on modern computers.

It seems like a pretty good deal for $600 dollars. And I am guessing it looks pretty schweet too.
Nice:D

I got it at best buy, but it was only on sale last week. Original price is only like 100-150 more, which I guess is quite a bit.
