This has been troubling my mind for a while now.
Ever since I've joined I've seen my share of diaries come and go. And since the time I joined I've been seeing that the members that originally requested their diary rather don't post in it or they just don't want anything to do with it and want it deleted or they just don't bother to look to see if their diary has been created.
I think we should contact these members and tell them "Your requested diary has been created" or something like that. We need to tell them so that these new forum don't go to waste and get deleted.
We need to contact these members via PM and tell them that their diary has been created. Who agrees with me?

If they really want there diary enough - they will post in it when it's made. If they aren't that willing, then their diary deserves to be deleted.

Yes but it is a waste of the admin's time when they create a new diary and then it doesn't get used.

It would be a waste of an admin's time to send PMs to every member to notify them that the diary they requested has been created. If you care enough about your diary, you'll see it.

It is also a waste of time if they send the PM. I think that the user should be active enough to be able to notice if their diary is now created. The admins also post that it was made in the request forum. If they want to run their own forum then they should at least be active enough to notice it.
I really am kinda 50/50. If the admins don't mind doing it then so be it. But I don't think it needs to be done.

I used to PM people but decided to stop. The reason being that people should really pay attention to what is going on if they are requesting a diary. Its not like its a mystery when they are created, like if there is no room another diary is deleted and a date for that deletion is given.
In my time I have seen so many diaries come and go and generally speaking they have a relatively short life, but thats the nature of diaries.

i think that they should be contacted because especially if they have been on the waiting list for a while they may have forgotten to look for it. this i have seen happen a lot. but also it shows that they might not really want the diary if they don't check on it. but anyways i think they should be contacted

When I applied for my diary, many many moons ago, I would check very regularly if it was created. If people really want diaries they will keep checking.
