I have heard that Polysporn fades the colour, so I researched and found http://tattoogoo.com/ Which I believe is the thing to use. Also, I've heard that sunscreen protects the colour too.

Sorry I'm a bit late but, I used tattoo goo on my first one and it was amazing. On my second one I used just plain ole Aveeno lotion, the artist told me that normal unscented lotion was okay for it.

I've heard of Tattoo Goo and have saw the add on YouTube, and it sounds really great.
You could also ask your tattoo artist for some help.

when washing, do NOT rub the tattoo! pat it dry

Here's a great and short article on About.com about tattoo aftercare (clicky) (http://tattoo.about.com/cs/beginners/a/blaftercare.htm). The person who is in charge of this part of About.com (tattoos and piercings) is very knowledgable. reading the article is worth it if you want to make sure your tattoo stays beautiful and heals nicely. :D

edit: if this is an older tattoo, you can moisturize some, and be sure to use sunblock all the time to make sure it doesn't fade
