picking up signals

so i was talking to my girlfriend the other day and she was telling me how happy she is that we are together especially after another girl <insert girls name> apparently was "throwing herself" onto me before jo and i hooked up. the thing is, i didn't even notice. then jo asked me if i thought of her making a point of telling me she had broken up with her last boyfriend and wanting to dance with me at the school dance was telling me something. honestly, i thought she was just being friendly. so then jo asked me if when she spent what jo described as "hours" talking to me, if i had picked up on anthing, well i hadn't. so apparently i had someone after me and yet didn't even realise it and jo can't believe that i didn't know it. jo then described me as a chick magnet, which was very flattering, haha. so my question is for the guys, do you know or can you pick up on the signals of a girl liking you? and for the girls, what are some of the ways you let a guy know that you like them?

I can try to help, but I am horable at picking them up and sometimes even giveing them. Haha, plus I am slow. So as far as picking them up it's anyone's guess. These are one's that I have found usually...

- Winking
- Alot of eye contact
- Smileing
- She asks how she can get ahold of you.
- She hangs out with you a little more then a normal friend.
- She might try to show off.

Geesh, I know there's more then this. I have been sitting here thinking of some for a while. I guess if I can think of some more, I will post them.

-If you make one little stutter, or make one little mistake, she'll hold it against you in a cute way.
-She'll explain things that are a little too much..
-She'll tell her friends about you, and her friends will talk to you more.
-She'll try to pick out the similarities between you two, and she'll pick out the differences, to try to find out the are you compatible.
-She'll make the fake little insults, so you'll say sorry, and she'll be happy, you know, the way of flirting.
-She'll sit by you or on your lap.
-She'll drink or eat after you.
-She'll kind of push you, hit your arm, elbow you, you know, the petty stuff.
-She'll write more things about you, and she'll message/comment you about the night before, or just do it randomly.

Guys give signals almost exactly the same or very similar to girls. I guess we try to show masculinity by bragging more often or doing something normal guys wouldnt do to get a girl's attention.

-They blame little petty things that they probably did on the girl, so they can have a cute little argument about it.

-If the girl is dancing, he'll dance with you to try to score points.

I think there is a really fine line between signals you give someone you like and the way you act with a really close friend. Which is why a lot of the time, the two can become a bit confused. I mean, I smile a lot, I laugh at silly jokes, I tease them, we hug, we sit on each others knees, I ask a lot of questions when Im around my friends but that doesnt mean I want to be with them :eek: LOL

Saying that, I would say eye contact is probably one of the most...telling ones. Not the eye contact you have when you're having a conversation, the eye contact inbetween things that are said.
You sometimes dont even realise you're doing it until the person you're gazing at catches you :P
Its not always that obvious though.

talk about stuff you like
fix thier hair before/while talking to you
when your with her and your friends she will point out not so funny things that you did
will try to out do you
always laughing/smiling at you
trys to hang out with you or trys to stay away from you to make you want her more and when you do see her she does the above stuff

signals boys give:

trys to hang out with you or trys to stay away from you to make you want her more and when you do see her she does the below stuff
laugh/smile around the girl
buy her stuff when they hang out as friends
acts differnent around you than other girls
if you and another random girl are around he will fake flirt with the other girl
