Okay, a while ago me and some friends were talking, kinda having a sex education talk. (we were bored. Don't ask.) And one of the things someone said was that a man who has a wet dream is officially "a man" and that a man who does not have a wet dream is almost guaranteed to be infertile. The reason I thought this wasn't true is because what about masturbation? Wouldn't that decrease the chance of having a wet dream simply because you don't build up any sperm that the body needs to get rid of?

Firstly, it doesn't mean that your a man if you have a wet dream and if you don't have one you're infertile.

Now many people have wet dreams and masturbation is fine to. Masturbation won't decrease the chances of having a wet dream. Many masturbate and still have them and others don't masturbate and have them or some just don't have them at all.

When you masturbate you release built up sperm, so if you do masturbate regularly, your less likely to have a wet dream because you released the sperm. Not having a wet dream doesnt mean youre infertile or less of a "man", because some people dont have wet dreams, but can still release sperm.

This is correct, my, masturbation does decrease the chance of a wet dream. If you look at me and my friends, I don't masturbate, and I have had like 10 wet dreams in my life. All my friends have either had one or none, and they masturbate.

Actually, you are completely right! Masturbation would decreace his chance of having wet dreams.

Wet dreams do not determine whether you're infertile or not. Wet dreams may mostly be caused by build up of sperm in the body because the guy hasn't found out how to masturbate yet, or because he doesn't masturbate, so he's a lot more prone to premature ejaculation.

You aren't official a grown "man" until your age of consent, in my opinion, or when you're mentally mature.

Listen, what makes us 'men' has really nothing to do with (and when) the stuff comes out of our penises. Actually, penises have little to do with being 'a real man'. It only helps the doc identify you as a "BOY!" when you're born.

Sexual maturity is marked by the ability to produce live sperm. How the';re delivered is really irrelevant to this determination. So, if you've got some pubic hair and can ejaculate even a little, you're there. Congradulations. the doc got that one right when you were born.

Wet dreams occur because there's a build up of semen, which needs to be periodically released not only to get rid of it, but also for the body to make sure all is functioning well.
