...sweet? with my girlfriend and past girlfriend i have always gone all out to make sure they know how much i care for and love them, whether it be writing them a nice letter or buying them something nice or just saying stuff. something i really need is to know that i'm loved and its something i just do back naturally because i really believe in treating my girlfriend the best i possibly can.

but i have begun to wonder whether i'm going over the top with this. today my girlfriend said that i'm too sweet. i don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing. maybe i'm too nice and caring. or maybe i'm just paranoid? do you think a guy can be too sweet and if so, is this a bad thing?

I'll give an objective and subjective answer.

Objectively, yes, guys can be too sweet. In general, girls want a guy who is both kind, considerate, and caring, but also there for her to lean on and protect her. Most girls don't want one without the other, but as always that is a vast generalization as we know that everyone is most definitely not the same.

Subjectively, I think you're being a bit paranoid Stephen. A lot of times girls will say, "You are just too sweet" but they don't actually mean it. Most girls like to be 'spoiled,' aka have a guy who kisses her for no reason or compliments her a lot.

That pretty much says it all.

Personally, I want a boyfriend to be a guy (someone who protects me from danger, blah, blah, blah, etc) but at the same time I want him to be considerate of my feelings....

LMAO!^^ :lol3:

I agree with what has been said already :-)
Sweet is definitely good.

Saying that, I also think it is sometimes possible to have too much of a good thing... I dont know if this is relevant to the way you are with your girlfriend but... *shrugs* I'll say it anyway :-)
Its really nice when someone does something sweet, because it makes you feel special/cared for/loved/liked but it is also a nice surprise, something good compared to the norm.
However, if they do things all the time, sometimes some of that element of surprise is removed, and it becomes more ..."normal". And it takes away some of the special-ness.
Like I said, I dont know if this is relevant but thought Id say it anyway, just incase :-)

Anyway, sweet is definitely good though! :-)
