firefox 3 RC1 already comes shipped with the new distro of ubuntu, and it seems to be a bit buggy, crashing sometimes when there's embedded material on the page....but that may just be the linux version

I installed it last night.

That's because Minefield is just the nightly snapshots of the browser. So, they're the most up-to-date. So, when they have a build that is suitable for an RC, they'll clean the appearance up, brand it with "Firefox" and release it.

Actually, Beta 5 comes with Ubuntu right now.

It's a few months old.

There's likely been a lot of bug fixes since then.

Anyone who wants, type "about:robots" (Without quotes) into the address bar in Firefox and press "Enter."

It should, for the most part.

Some of your Add-ons or themes you may have might not work properly. It just depends.

"about:mozilla" is always a good thing to try as well.

Then, there's "about:plugins" and "about:config"

Those aren't meant as jokes though. Just the first two I've mentioned.

been waiting for this...hopefully is much more less likely to crash unlike beta 5

Oddly enough, I really didn't have any problems with crashing in most of the betas. The largest problem I had with any of the betas was in Beta 4, it put lines in the reply boxes randomly, and several other places.

I had more Problems in Beta 5
but this RC1 is much faster an it has less bugs

Has anyone heard about any bugs on this yet?

I am glad I waited for XP SP3 because I heard they are having some issues btu what about this?

Nothing that I know of. They just released RC3 today, for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The Linux and Windows Releases were unchanged since RC2, so they apparently haven't found any bugs in RC2 for those two OS's. The Mac version, they had one fairly significant bug in RC2 that was found with the update from OSx 10.5.2 --> 10.5.3, so they released RC3 to fix that bug.

All-in-all, FF3, even at Beta 5, was at least under Windows, less buggy and more stable than FF2.
