Question to big fans of Good Charlotte and Simple Plan

Ok i dont wanna sound weird or sound like im being really mean or ne thing... cause im not but...

Like there are some kids in my school.... therer are kids who listen to these bands and when the band is upset.. They are upset... then the band is happy.... they are happy... like they follow what the band is feeling... and i dont get it... like they base their lives on a band... im not sure if it matters but would them being gay have ne thing to do with it? Like them just looking up to them as an idol.... idk i dont want that to soud like me being against gays or insulting them... its not like that at all... im just curious bout thouse kids in my school
