That's right you heard it you can use your usb Flash Drive to help speed up your system the software Windows Ready Boost comes preinstalled on all Vista Systems but you have to download a seperate software for XP called eBoostr. A free trial can be downloaded (http://www.eboostr.com/download/) that works for four hours after each boot, or you can get the full version (http://www.eboostr.com/order/) for just $29.

that "ram" is gonna be significantly slower than ur regular ram.

I.e.
usb transfer speed: 60MB/s(thats the bus speed, most drives aren't that fast)

Ram transfer speed 1600-6400 MB/s

addtionaly i never really saw the benefit of this feature over just using virtual memory/ page file, on your hard drive, which i assume has higher transfer speeds.

Not trying to dis anything, just saying that i don't see the purpose when there are better alternatives avalible, plus one accidental unplugging of your drive could crash a program, and corrupt a important project.

It's not using it as separate RAM it is using it together It has boosted my computer speed but I already bought another RAM card so I'm just going to use my flash drive for something else.

wups i misread, i herd about something similar that used ur usb drive for virtual memory, though this sounds like it does something similar.

I've got 4GB of RAM, and turned off the Page file in Windows. Much better. :P

Thinking about upping it to 8GB just for the heck of it. I've already had it to less than a megabyte of free RAM even wtih 4GB. Only once, but then again, I just built this computer a week ago...

All that type of programs sucks they don't work

If you want your PC faster buy more memory RAM
