It could make you feel sick because of the sugar content. If you can't stop eating the mints, try to make healthy choices with the rest of the things you eat so you're not just eating sugar all day. Also, be sure to brush your teeth twice a day, and don't sit in bed snacking on Altoids after brushing your teeth for the night. Sugar is known to attract plaque, which causes cavities and even gum disease. And, as an added bonus, there are about 250 calories in a tin of Altoids and roughly 80% of those calories are composed of sugar. *happens to have a tin right here and checked out the nutrition info* That can't be the best thing for your overall health. Mints are meant to be eaten in small amounts--one or two at a time, and no more than a few times per day, which is why it normally doesn't cause a problem. Eating so many of them on a regular basis is likely to make you feel sick, as you've already found.
Now, if you're anything like me, you're eating the Altoids because they're there and they taste good, right? Try getting rid of them. Finish the pack you've got now, and then don't let yourself bring any more into your room, or put them in your backpack, or anything like that. If they're not there, you can't snack on them.

I agree with Jessie, but there's possibly another reason you could be getting ill from eating so many mints.
Most producers of breathfreshening gum/mints don't use actual sugar, but rather a sugar-subsitite, which can have a sort of laxative effect if too much is consumed. It really doesn't do brilliant things for your digestive system ...
If you can't give up cold turkey, try switching to some mint flavoured gum, and limit yourself to say, only three pieces per day, and slowly cut back so that you aren't so obsessive addicted anymore.
