What's the difference between Member blogs, and "diary-like" entries on a personal forum?

Well, if you take a look at my member forum, it is nothing like a diary at all, it's a forum for books, basically. Nothing at all like a blog.
Also, not just anyone can have a member forum, there are requirements, where as anyone can have a blog, no matter the post count, how new they are, etc. Basically, the forums are a forum, and the blogs are a blog.

Mhmm, pretty much.
And you need 50 posts to request a diary and have been a member here for at least 30 days. :)
Blogs are sorta like the blogs on Myspace.

That's basically the reason
though I would think that the admins might consider changing the name from diaries to something else.

Hopefully they do someday.. The name "diary" doesn't really help me understand or anyone really understand why it is called that.
It's not like a book. Anyone can post and reply to your diary.

Thats why we use the term "diary" and "member forum" interchangebly. A diary is more of a big blog but a member forum is what you see more in today's member forums. It is completely free, usually themed, etc. You can make it whatever you want but what a diary used to be was to write about your day and your life etc. So now there are more "member forums" than diaries. So yeah thats why they sound like the same thing because they are just the different names means different...types. Hope that helped.
