GTA IV - Got It Yet?

I got it for £45/~$90

Anyways, my mom won't get it for me, and no it's not because it's rated M, it's not because I don't have the money/she doesn't have the money, it's not because of what it says on the back, and it's not because of what it's about. She won't get it for me because of what they've said on the news about it. When I ask her what they said she says, "I don't remember, but they said it was bad, so I'm not buying it for you..." The news said Mass Effect was bad, she bought that for me... She's bought me COD4, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Assassin's Creed, all rated M. She was going to buy me Dark Sector [one very bloody game], but I changed my mind at the last minute and bought Frontlines: Fuels of War [which isn't a terrible game, but isn't anything amazing in terms of story mode]... Anyways, yeah, I'm a little ticked my mom won't get the game for me... And what sucks even more is that none of my friends can get it either [two of my friend's are Wii owners, another of my friends doesn't have any next-gen systems, two of my other friends' parent's aren't willing to buy GTA IV for them...]

Yeah, it's rated "M for Mature" here, which means I think you have to be 17 to buy it... So yeah, I can't just waltz into [most] stores and buy it. Plus, even if I could buy it on my own, I don't have $60 that I could spend without my mom knowing that I spent it... But yeah, it sucks... I think I might be able to convince her to buy me Saints Row 2 though.. :/

Ive played M games for... ever... and i watch r rated movies occasionally... but my dad says no GTA, since like its pointless violence and crime, which i actually kind of agree with... But its so awesome :P Ive only played a few times and my dad said 'No beating civilians' lol well anyway ya... That may be what your moms thinking

Well it's mainly what the parent thinks of the game. I mean that hey you can't buy your kid every M rated game. The parent needs to think "Is this game right?" "What will it possibly teach my child?" "Does it influence crime?"

I got it like 2 days ago :D Its awesome! But I keep wanted to play San Andreas but my ps2's broken. Oh and for anyone that DOES have gta4 what you should do to get m4s and shotguns in the beginning of the game is, go to the safe house, shoot someone or get a star, go up the stairs in your safe house and wait there with a pistol, when they come in just keep shooting them, then when your low on health, just save and all the guns from the cops that you killed are still there same for the SWAT guys :D m4s r teh shitz or is it an m16? eh w/e

dude, it is soooooooooo easy to beat. I even got the liberty city minute (Xbox 360 Achievement- Beat story mode in less than 30 hours of playing time) without even trying. You can get two different endings as well.

Lol sadly I can't do that now, I kept screwing around figuring out things for like 2 days. Like right now I think I have like 5000 rounds for the deagle from just killing cops.

Lol like I've said before, xbox360 is the console stuck in the middle :D ps3 is more for solo play and wii for for family fun :) But yeah killzone 2 looks sick

because there are only a few online games while nearly every 360 game has online capabilities. and while the online service is free, it has nowhere near the amount of capabilities as 360. plus, you have to install games on the hard drive, meaning if you have a lot of games, you can't play all of them due to hard drive size restrictions.

Generally when you think about all 3 consoles:

You have the wii, made my nintendo, generally made not for graphics but for fun and low cost, easy to play, fun for everyone all ages.

Then you have the xbox 360 all around good console, nothing really bad about it, made by microsoft, average, the middle price, pretty good graphics.

Then you have the PS3, amazing graphics, blu ray, most expensive of all three, made by sony. Though, its actually a really good deal because a regular blue ray disc player would cost more than buying a ps3.

Thats just how I see it, thats how Ive always seen these companies on consoles : nintendo - microsoft - sony

Firstly, there are loads of online games, Warhawk, COD4, Battlefield:BC, Haze, GTA IV, Unreal Tournament, Rainbow 6, Motorstorm, MetalGearSolid, Resistance, Ghost Recon and Burnout Paradise to name a few.

So what does the 360 online do that the PS3 can't? You play online against other people, simple as that. Next month the PS3 is getting a trophies system, where you earn trophies for playing games.

And having to install the games, it stores a small amount of data, its no big deal. I have never heard anyone complain about that. I have about 30 demos on my PS3, 5 full games, quite a lot of music and 3 or 4 films, there is still pleanty of space. And if you need to you can easily upgrage the hard drive to as big as you like for little cost. The PS3 also supports external hard drives, which are also very cheap, you can get 500GB drives for very little money now.

the trophies system is just copying the 360's achievement system. to go farther, 360 has downloadable arcade games which can be played online, friends list, awesome peripharals, live one on one voice chat, inviting friends to games, thousands of downloadable tv shows, downloadable movies, and the games only need space to save progress, 10 MB max. there are also expansions for games that you can download and the online is much more secure. it also show that you don't really need the external 500 gig hard drive

Its probably going to go back and forth, as both systems are seriously great, and if you can't acknowledge that fact then you obviously have your head shoved really far up your ass and have the inability to get it out. The only reason we'll see one system being "better" than the other is due to when certain "exclusive" games are released. In the near future the PS3 has a lot more exclusive releases.... Here's how Gamepro compared the two [for the future, in terms of upcoming games]:

360's upcoming games: Ninja Gaiden II [out now], Left 4 Dead, Too Human, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Halo Wars, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bults, Halo Chronicles. [That's 10 good to great games]

PS3's upcoming games: Gran Turismo 5, Haze [out now], MSG4: Guns of the Patriots [out now], Metal Gear Online, Singstar, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, SOCOM Confrontation, InFamous, The Agency, Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Tekken 6, Twisted Metal. I'm borrowing my friends copy while he's in Australia for the summer. It's a great game, I've got Vice City and San Andreas and this one lives up to the hype. Driving is a bit confusing but the bigger city and more things you can get into make up for it. I still like San Andreas a bit better but this is a great game.
