Does anyone know.. About any free domains(NOT subdomains)/hosting? Most free ones offer either free domain or free hosting but never both... Please help! :)

There's no way you can get a free domain and free hosting. People want to make money.

Domains are around $10 a year so its nothing steep to pay.

I do know of a free web host here:
http://www.50webs.com/free_plan.html

They do offer free subdomains though like you said its not what you want. Paying $10 for a year for a domain isn't much at all.

There used to be a website out there that was free. You could have 100MB of disk space if you used a subdomain, but if you wanted, you could choose to have your own domain with only 10MB of disk space. Unfortunately, that website disappeared around the time that I became an active member of VirtualTeen (almost four years ago). :|

The free service includes URL forwarding, not DNS management, and they're not the same. With URL forwarding, visitors get forwarded to the site, which isn't actually running on the .tk domain name.

Even though these sites will give you subdomains, you'll have to find a free host that hosts top-level domains for these to work, as that's how they're functioning with DNS.

http://www.uni.cc/
(yourname.uni.cc)

http://www.da.ru/eng/da/ns/create.html
(yourname.da.ru)

A DNS lookup shows that virtualteen.org nameservers point to ns.dotservant.com and ns2.dotservant.com. This makes sense as Dotservant sponsors our hosting.

All the free .tk domain does is forward people from www.namehere.tk to www.actual.ext/ifanythingelseishere.

Basically, the main difference between something that only forwards to a page and something that gives you control over DNS options is that functionality is greatly improved for those whom host on their own computer or even those whom need to have control of propogation and whatnot.

Hmm... I suppose it's not easily explained, but I would prefer something like http://www.uni.cc/ over that TK redirection. :|

Edit:

Francis has a much better explanation than me :P

You can try www.domainlagoon.com
You have to fill out surveys and stuff... but it's all free.
I know it works, because my friends and I have used it before.
