a boy in my street is like 160 cm tall and is only ten years old !
He allway brags around how strong he is. and that he can lift his 160lbs brother and I ain't buying that shit.
so one day, I told him to do a lill friendly match of handwrestling.
So he said with his high pitched voice: okay then
and we handwrestled and he won, seemingly easy.

man, I am so ashamed right now! How can I, at 13, lose from a ten year old kid?! I won with handwrestling from other kids my age yet lost from a ten year old!

anyone had similar stories? is this kid just a little freak of nature or am I a weakling? :(

should i be able to win a rematch? am I gonna be bigger them that guy? his father is like 196 cm tall and real awfully strong and his mum is like 170 cm tall. my parents are like 170 cm both. can i still get stronger\bigger?

This is not good for my confidence! It is, in fact, rather bad forn it. I allways thought I was rather strong, until right now. This really changed the way I see myself. It probably looks very weak to worry about shit like this, but I guess it is my age, ain't it my age? My mom said I could still grow bigger and stronger, and she said my older brother also grew little till he was like 17 then suddenly grew to be 192 cm tall. The problem is: my bro is adopted for God's sake! He's an freakin' masai or something like that!

Okay, boomerang. What do you say about what happened to me? Could it be I am weak, or is that guy just supernatural?

you cant compare you and another kid, he may have developed early, and maybe your just a bit later than him, also, no matter who you are, its almost a certainty that there will be someone out there who is younger than you and stronger/faster/better/more skillful than you, its a fact in life, unfortunatly for you, you met him

As said hes probably developed more quicker than you as in terms of upper arm strength

He could of used weights to get strong, which by the way is not a good idea when we are developing, especially if we lift heavy weights and do it often becuase our muscles are still growing and if we end up with big strong arms when we are younger apparently it is more likely that you will be shorter than you should off been. So being strong can effect your future body, tell him that if he's like that he'll be a short ass, that'll stop him bragging.
BTW my PE teacher told me this so you know it's true!

Thanks for the answers you people. As for the bragging ten year old: he does not lift weights (and is far to young for that anyway I guess) but he does swim fanatically. So he's probably gonna be big anyway (since his father is really huge aswell and sons tend to get taller then there parents after all).

Btw, he told me that he is not developing very fast, but that has allways been strong and that he does not need to do anything to maintain that strenght and that it still increases. He says he got tremendous natural body strenght as all men in his family tend to have. Looking at his brother (who is actually of more stubby build yet very muscular) and his father, I can lively imagine he's right.

All kids mature at different rates. He may be a little stronger and taller but that doesn't mean you're a weakling.

You'll mature at some point

he probably goes to the gym and works out with his brother and dad so dont feel bad about it.

...Well scientists and doctors all say its not true...^

Anyway, the kids big for his age and just lifts weights. You can build upper body muscle if you really want. The kid probably isnt the brightest kid, being so big and tough. As I always say, "Brain over brawn...but both is even better"

BogMonkey, you say it is 40% mental and 60% physical. Well, obviously the little brat has the mental part (damn, he's arrogant) but looking at his arms, they do not look very strong. He has got thick wrists and long thin hands however, but no biceps. And he obviously hasn't gone trough puberty yet. But undoubtfully, he seems to possess massive strenght. I believed him when he said he does not work out, but then what gives him the strenght to win? Is it mentally or physically or has he got huge natural strenght instead of the one you would get when you work out? I really don't know.

I'm still not sure about this. Could I practice handwrestling some way so that I could beat the kid and have him shut up for once?
